CBA Alumni Week Keynote Event
“Cybersecurity: Crimes & Consequences”
Alumni Week will take place during the week
of March 16 – 22, with alumni and alumnae
guest lecturers in many business classes. The
keynote event will be a presentation on
Cybersecurity: Crimes & Consequences, by
Meredith Phillips, ’94, ’97 and Dominick
Paluzzi, ‘04, ‘07. Meredith is the Chief
Information Privacy & Security Officer at
Henry Ford Health System, where she
oversees all aspects of Henry Ford’s privacy and security operations. As part of this
work, she designed and led the HFHS Privacy Program and Data Breach Response
Program. An alumna of both the College of Business Administration and the College of
Health Professions, Meredith also serves as Vice President of the Medical Identity
Fraud Alliance Board. Dominick, an attorney with McDonald Hopkins, advises clients
regarding data privacy and cybersecurity measures, including information security
programs and responses to data security breaches involving sensitive personal
information. He works with federal, state and local authorities, as well as third party
vendors, throughout the breach notification process, and has litigated matters involving
numerous industries, including education, healthcare, hospitality, retail, automotive,
accounting, finance, information technology, and others. An alumnus of both the
College of Business Administration and the School of Law, Dominic is a past president
of the CBA Alumni Board. The keynote event will be held on Tuesday, March 17,
beginning with a luncheon in the President’s Dining Room at noon (please RSVP to
[email protected] by 3/13 to attend), followed by the panel discussion at
1:00pm in the Fountain Lounge. All are invited and encouraged to attend this
important and timely discussion.
Financial Executives International (FEI) awards
Congratulations to two CBA students who received the Financial Executives award.
Louis Denha, an undergraduate accounting major, President of the ChaldeanAmerican Student Association, has been employed at Star Supermarkets, Thomas
Duke Realtors, and the accounting firm of Alkamano & Associates; Louis plans to
earn his CPA designation after graduation. Kenneth Carbaugh, an MBA student,
currently a portfolio manager at Liberty Capital Management. Ken was quoted last
summer in a Wall Street Journal article, “Three Reasons This is a Good Time to be an
Investor”.

As part of the University's Second Wednesday Series, Dean Eisenhauer of the College of Business Administration
will present “Catherine McAuley Social Entrepreneurship & Education for the Mercy Mission” on Wednesday,
April 8 at noon in the library, room 324.
