NEWSLETTER
BOOK AND SPORT KIT AMNESTY
May we make a plea for you to look for any school home reading book at home that you may have had
some time? We have lost a significant amount and although it is only 3 years since we invested
thousands of pounds into this, we are now having to replace these, taking a significant amount of
money from this year’s budget. If found either place in your child’s book bag or hand in at the school
office.
Additionally, we have now lost a number of school sports kits, worn by children for external
competitions. Again, if not returned, instead of building on the current kit and purchasing potential
extras such as tracksuits, we will simply have to replace what we did have already. As above, if found
please return with your child or hand into school. Many thanks in advance for this.
I Pads
You may remember that I mentioned a few months ago that FOCS had kindly provided the school with
the funds to purchase a set of I Pads. I would like to update you with regards to these. We have had
significant problems with the set up of these. This is not an issue with us as a school but rather with
the LA. Setting them up in school is unfortunately not as simple as setting them up at home. The
main issue we are having is that passwords provided by Apple to enable our technical providers to set
them up to our server are being blocked and put into hold at the LA. Regrettably their system is not
telling them when this has happened and it is causing significant delays. The LA have promised us
they are dealing with the issue. I will update you again as soon as we have made progress with this.
You may be aware that Radio City are looking for Superheroes to step up for Cash for Kids and Alder
Hey Children's Charity and help them raise much-needed funds to make their new hospital into a
Super Hospital for all little Superheroes! As in recent years, a number of our children have been
treated so well under the care of Alder Hey, we would like to play our part in this. Radio City are
actually completing this on Friday. However we will have our Superhero Day on Monday 18 May
2015. In exchange for wearing a Superhero costume for the day, we are asking the children to make
a donation of AT LEAST £1. We would also like to hold a cake sale. Please send in as many cakes
as possible on Monday 18 May to enable us to raise as many funds as possible.
CROSS COUNTRY SUCCESS
Congratulations to all the Y3,4,5 and 6 children who took part in the Cross Country event at Culcheth
Primary School on Wednesday. They did so well. Particularly well done to Joseph Murphy in Y5 who
came first in the Y5/6 boys race out of 79 Y5 and Y6 boys from 19 schools. When I asked Joseph in
assembly if he enjoyed running, he replied, “not really!” Not bad for someone who is not mad keen on
running. He was awarded a lovely trophy.

A MESSAGE FROM THE MUMS
“We would like to thank the children of Y3 for the day out at Tatton Park. We had a great time learning
about the gardens and the jobs the gardening apprentices would get up to every day. The children
were very attentive, listening to the staff who gave the talks and answering the questions. Lots of
interesting questions were asked by the children. Hopefully they enjoyed themselves as much as we
did. We were very proud to be associated with them as they behaved very well and were a credit to
the school. Thank you.”
Well done Y3 for living up to our school ‘PROUD’ statement.
