Scarborough Campus Future: Progress Update
University Campus Scarborough launched
University Campus Scarborough was officially launched last week
with meetings for staff, students and the business community.
New signage was unveiled on the entrance to campus and there
were announcements in the media.
University Campus Scarborough is a strategic partnership
between the University of Hull and the Hull College Group. From
now until summer 2017 the two organisations will co-exist on
campus. In September 2015, Hull College Group hopes to
welcome its first intake of students to a small range of courses.
University of Hull students will continue to be in the majority
through to 2017 and the University is committed to ensuring
students enjoy the best possible student experience throughout
the transition period.
At a dinner on Thursday 12 March, Hull College Group addressed
guests from the local business community and launched its 2015
prospectus.
A copy of the launch press release and a copy of an advert that
appeared in the Scarborough News has been posted on the
noticeboard outside the library and in the entrance to Cayley
Halls. You can find copies of all the documents relating to the
launch and the process that led up to this on the Scarborough
page of the Student Portal - portal.hull.ac.uk

Volunteers Needed for Charity Fundraiser
The Ayton Beer Festival takes place on Saturday 25 April 2015
and volunteers are needed to help on the day – Parking
Attendants, Stewards, Bar Staff, Refuse Collectors and more…
This will suit anyone interested in events or students looking to
gain some experience to put on their CVs. Although the work is
unpaid, we will, of course, be happy to provide references to
future employers.
Pocket Campus
We are looking for volunteers to assist for at least 2 hours during
the day from 10am until midnight. More details about the event
itself can be found in the Events Off Campus section of this
newsletter.

Ayton Village Beer Festival & Family Fun Day
Do you like live music? Quality Ales and Beers? Good Food? Then
on Saturday 25 April get down to East Ayton Village Hall, just
outside of Scarborough.
As part of the Events Management module, we have designed an
event aimed at bringing the community together, all entirely in
support of 3 local causes, Saint Catherine’s Hospice, RNLI and St.
John’s Ambulance. There will be a line-up of live bands, great
foods, and Yorkshires very own Wold Top Brewery will be
providing us with their array of quality ales. In addition to this we
will be having Hedge-Hoggers Cider supporting with their
bestselling ciders along with North Riding Brewery who will be
treating us with their own selections. We will also have some
children’s entertainment and activities so be sure to bring the
whole family.
The best part of all this though, is that it will cost students just
£2.00! Yes, just £2.00 entrance for the full day upon showing your
student ID. Coupled with live music and amazing local eats, you’ll
be sure to have a fantastic day. Moreover, we will be holding a
raffle on Tuesday 17 March throughout the campus, tickets
priced at £1.00 with the chance to win a fantastic array of prizes,
so be sure to get your ticket sorted.
Don’t forget to visit out Facebook Page and give us a like. Ayton
Village Beer Festival and Family Fun Day will kick off at midday
and finish at midnight. We can’t wait to see you there!
