JOB PURPOSE:
To maintain accurate databases and online
directories of opportunity information that effectively
meet customer and client needs
MAIN DUTIES
1
To liaise with providers of learning and development opportunities and
develop good working relationships with partner agencies to foster and
guide the effective collection and sharing of opportunity data in accordance
with data sharing protocols and data protection principles.

To develop and maintain the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of the
opportunities databases and online directories (such as workabout, CLIK,
AWPs, IZZY-Info) and use it to help influence service provision and promote
the effective use of management information.

To advise and guide database and online directory users, from C&K
Careers and external agencies, identify their training needs and help
develop and deliver training plans to meet those needs.
4
To use internal and external data sources to produce regular reports, and
management information, as necessary and assist colleagues and
managers in their interpretation.

To establish and/or maintain contact with directory users (young people,
adults and partners), gathering feedback to ensure the effectiveness of the
directory offer
6
To liaise with other C&K Careers departments, e.g. the ICT Team, the Adult
Services, schools Teams, as and when necessary and act as a conduit for
the collection and sharing of opportunity and other related data and
management information.

To keep abreast of local, regional and national database and online
directory developments and requirements
8
To update and amend internal and external working procedures for
database and directory users (in conjunction with Line Manager).

To undertake other responsibilities, e.g. project work, as may be delegated
from time to time.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Significant experience of using relational databases and online directories.

A high degree of experience in using the MS Office suite of software
products.

NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

A high level of communication skills

Ability to provide a high level of customer care

Strong knowledge of learning opportunities and progression routes for
young people and adults

A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to balance own workload and meet deadlines

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
The postholder will:
•
ensure the Health and Safety of all staff and resources within the
postholder's area of responsibility, i.e. delegated responsibility in relation to
the nature of the postholder's duties and personal responsibilities as per
Section 7 and 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and regulation
