Troupes in 12 yrs & Under, 15 years & Under and Open Age will be divided into 2 Performance Levels, Recreational and
Experienced, if enough entries are received to run two separate sections.
Please nominate (R) or (E) based on the following:
Recreational Troupes (R) – contain dancers who all train for less than 3 hours per week in their overall dance education.
Experienced Troupes (E) – have one or more dancers who train for more than 3 hours per week in their overall dance education.
DOC reserves the right to move a troupe up to a higher Performance Level if their standard is deemed higher than the level
registered in. DOC reserves the right to combine section categories or age categories.

 All performers must pay a Compulsory Competitor Pass fee of $10 to be eligible to enter. This is a once off fee that
allows multiple troupe entries for each dancer and helps to cover theatre and insurance costs.
 Performers must register in the foyer on the day of the event to collect their Competitor Pass wrist bands and an
authorised signatory must sign the DOC Liability Waiver. Dancers without wrist bands will not be allowed to perform.

employees and representatives, connected with the event and the event organisers of Dance Off Challenge, from any claims for damages,
injuries, or loss of property while participating at this event. In addition, I have read and agree to abide by all the rules and regulations,
located on the website of Dance Off Challenge. I understand that there will be no refunds on entries and that any participant or viewer
may be included in any promotional DVDs or photographs taken during the event.
The Studio hereby warrants that any music used by it or its participants has been fully licensed and the appropriate consents have been
granted by the copyright holders of any music used by them in the performance of their dance routine and that the Studio shall indemnify
and hold Dance Off Challenge harmless from any claims, lawsuits or other actions related to the use of copyrighted material by the Studio
or its participants.

TROUPE AVERAGING FORM
DOC Troupe Challenge uses Age Averaging. To calculate the correct age category for your troupe,
please use the following format:
1. Add up all of the ages of the troupe members as at 1st January 2015.
2. Divide the total by the number of competitors in the troupe, dropping the decimal point.
3. Check that your oldest performers are not dancing lower than one age category down from their
actual age. e.g. Average troupe age is 12 but one troupe member is 18, then the troupe
must perform in 15 yrs and Under.
Note: Age Averaging has been introduced to benefit teachers by keeping competition teams together when
1 or 2 performers are just over the age limit. Any abuse of this system (including entering younger
performers who do not complete at least 60% of the dance in order to bring the age category down) will result
in disqualification.
