2. The New NIH Biosketch Workshop
The NIH Notice NOT-OD-15-032 announced a new NIH biosketch format is required for all NIH and AHRQ applications as of May 25,
2015. At this workshop, attendees will learn how to use two NCBI tools, SciENcv and My Bibliography, to auto-populate a NIH
biosketch. Registration is highly encouraged to reserve a seat; limit of registrants is 50.

9. Keck Fellowship
DBBS Faculty are invited to nominate their WU postdocs for partial fellowships ($30,000) through the 2015 Keck Postdoctoral
Program in Molecular Medicine at Washington University. The following limitations apply:
- Nominees must not have completed more than two years of postdoctoral training, excluding clinical training, as of July 1 (the
preferred applicant is either just beginning or early in the postdoctoral training period).
- Applicants must not hold any other named fellowship.
- Only U.S. CITIZENS are eligible.
- Nominations are limited to one per advisor. Consideration will be given to those mentors not recently awarded a Keck Fellowship.

10. Lilly Innovation Fellowship
The Lilly Innovation Fellowship Award is a competitive post-doctoral fellowship award and training partnership program. This
prestigious Award program is designed to foster post-doctoral research proposals by providing the recipient with up to four years of
salary, benefits, limited travel support, and a unique training experience while participating in the program. WU anticipates being
invited to nominate two candidates for the Lilly Innovation Fellowship Award (LIFA) and is holding an Internal Competition. Please

11. FDA Commissioner's Fellowship Program
The FDA invites outstanding healthcare professionals, scientists, and engineers to apply to its two-year Fellowship Program, where
they will receive regulatory science training and the chance to conduct cutting-edge research on targeted scientific, policy, or
regulatory issues under the mentorship of an FDA senior scientist. Applications will be accepted from March 16, 2015 through April
24, 2015 5 p.m. EST. The program starts in October. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals of the U.S., or have been
admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence at the time their applications are submitted. Please see the website for more

12. Procter & Gamble Research & Development PhD 2015 FIRST Conference
Procter & Gamble (P&G) is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce. The Company, its minority scientists, and the PhD
Recruiting office developed this unique conference in 1990, intended to give participants a deeper understanding about industrial
research careers. Participants will travel to Cincinnati-based technical centers to view industrial careers in action, network with a
group of successful minority scientists and other professionals whose leadership in science and technology is well established, and
gain a deeper understanding of the realities of cultural and workforce diversities.
The FIRST Conference is a unique recruitment opportunity that will be held September 20-23, 2015, in Cincinnati, Ohio. All travel
expenses and hotel accommodation costs will be paid by P&G. Participants could leave this conference with a day visit invitation and
may be considered for future employment at P&G.
The FIRST Conference is primarily intended for African American, Hispanic, and Native American doctoral and postdoctoral scientists
from STEM disciplines who want to learn more about industrial research careers. We strongly encourage scientists in those affinity
groups to apply. Other qualified candidates, including foreign nationals, also will be considered for participation. Applicants must
have a doctoral degree or expect to receive one within 9-12 months of the conference date. For maximum individual benefit, a
limited number of applicants will be chosen to participate.

13. ASCB & KGI Management Training Course
The American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB), in partnership with the Keck Graduate Institute, is offering a two-week intensive
management training course from July 12-24, 2015, at the Keck Graduate Institute in Claremont, CA. This course will accommodate
40 graduate students and postdocs (international and domestic) who will receive free tuition, room and board, plus 50% of their
travel costs, thanks to generous support from EMD Millipore Corporation.
The course will introduce PhD scientists to the skills they need to thrive in industry and will expose them to the culture,
organizational structures, and practices of life science companies through MBA-style case-based classroom experiences, professional
development workshops, and a team-based project. They will learn how the industry develops leads, organizes and conducts
research and development, and shepherds compounds through to clinical trials. The course is designed for advanced graduate
students with at least three years of research experience and for postdocs.
The deadline to apply is April 15. The application is straightforward, and the only stipulation is that applicants must be or become

14. Data Incubator – Summer 2015
The Data Incubator is an intensive 7 week fellowship that prepares masters, PhDs, and postdocs in STEM + social science fields
seeking industry careers as data scientists. The program is free for fellows and supported by sponsorships from dozens of employers
across multiple industries. In response to the overwhelming interest in our earlier sessions, we will be holding another fellowship.
Locations: There will be both an in-person (in NYC, DC, SF) and online section of the fellowship. There is a common application for
both the online and in-person sections.
Dates: All sections will be from 2015-06-01 to 2015-07-17

Who should apply: Anyone within one year of graduating from a masters or PhD program or who has already obtained a masters or

15. Postdoc Tuition Benefit
Reminder: Benefits-eligible Postdoctoral Research Scholars/Associates are eligible for the Postdoctoral Tuition Remission
Benefit. Registration is now open for Summer UCollege classes! Please remember that summer classes meet twice as often for
longer durations than full semester classes – please make sure you can commit the time before registering. Per the Postdoc Tuition
Policy, postdocs make take up to four credits for career development purposes.
Postdocs may take undergraduate classes (classes that begin with a 1, 2, 3 or 4) at University College for career development
purposes. Postdocs may take up to 4 credits per semester and a passing grade is required. Please visit http://ucollege.wustl.edu
and click “Registration” to access course listings, registration procedures and other policies and procedures. Classes must relate to
your professional development. If you decide not to take a class, it must be dropped within the 100% refund period otherwise you
will be sent a bill. Please visit the website for the schedule: http://ucollege.wustl.edu/tuition/refunds
You should register online and select the Postdoc Tuition Remission benefit as your method of payment. Then fill out the required
form and route to the approver listed for your School. All registration and forms should be completed before the start of the

16. Instructors Needed: Bard College’s Citizen Science Program
Bard College’s Citizen Science Program is a science literacy program required of all first year students, regardless of intended major.
Held in January, this short, intense academic program introduces our students to scientific thinking by engaging them in problembased learning classroom, computing and laboratory experiences. We are currently accepting applications from excellent scientists
