


Read through the passage again in a different translation before listening to the sermon.
Using the sermon notes or separate sheet of paper take notes during the sermon.
Write the application questions (end of sermon notes on website) below, answer them later.
1. What stood out to you most from the sermon?
2. What application is the highest priority for you to apply to your life? Why?
3. Sermon notes Question 1: Identify what beliefs and emotions were behind the blind man’s plea,
“Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” How does our plea for help to Christ compare to those
of the blind man?
4. Sermon notes Question 2: What would cause Jesus, who was on the road to the cross, to stop to
attend to the cries of a beggar over the shouts of the crowd? How does this alter your understanding of Christ’s willingness to respond to your please in times of need?
5. Sermon notes Question 3: Describe the reaction of the blind man when he knew Jesus was calling
him. When was the last time you had a similar response to Jesus calling?
6. Sermon notes Question 4: What do we know about the Christ who asked Bartimaeus, “What do
you want me to do for you?” Knowing Jesus is the Almighty power guided with infinite love, what
would be your immediate response if Christ asked this question of you?
7. Sermon notes Question 5: Was the restoration of sight to the blind man the only reason he
immediately followed Jesus? What changed in your life that caused you to follow Christ?
Remember to transfer your central idea and main application to the summary lesson.
