The SW monsoon has set in over TLNG and advanced into entire TLNG., today the 13th June,2015.

Synoptic situation

Southwest Monsoon had been active over Telangana on 15th June 2015.
The trough on SLC runs from Odisha to South Tamilnadu across CAP persists. The upper air Cyclonic circulation now
lies over West Central Bay of Bengal off NCAP & South Odisha Coast extends between 1.5km and 4.5 km a.s.l.on 12th
,persisted upto 0.9 KM a.s.l.on 13th to 15th June 201.,
Rainfall Activity and Distribution during last three days from 12.06.2015 to 15.06.2015
Rain occurred at a many places over Telangana on 13th & 15th ,isolated on 12th on june 2015.

1.4 Description of Past Weather for the last four days (Period 12.06.2015 to 15.06.2015)
Max Temperature (deg C): The maximum temperatures are between 33oC - 37oC in the districts of
Telangana. The maximum temperatures were below normal at a few places over Telangana and
above normal at isolated places over rest of Telangana.
Min Temperature (deg C): The minimum temperatures were 23oC 26oC in the districts of
Telangana. The minimum temperatures were below normal at many places over Telangana .
Total cloud cover (Okta): The cloud cover was 1 –8 Okta in the districts of Telangana.
Max Relative Humidity (%): The Relative Humidity was between 75% - 94% in the districts of
Telangana.
Min Relative Humidity (%): The Relative Humidity was
Telangana.

Wind Speed (Kmph): The wind speed was between 00- 06 over Telangana.

Max Temperature (deg C): The maximum temperature would be 32oC-37oC in North Telangana
zone, 32oC-38oC in Central Telangana zone, 31oC-37oC in South Telangana Zone.
Min Temperature (deg C): The minimum temperature would be 23oC-28oC in North Telangana
zone, 23oC-27oC in Central Telangana zone, 23oC-75oC in South Telangana Zone.
Cloud cover (octa): The cloud cover would be 7-8 Okta in the districts of Telangana
Max Relative Humidity (%): The maximum Relative Humidity would be 68% -88% North
Telangana zone, 62% -85% in Central Telangana zone 62% - 78% in South Telangana Zone.
Min Relative Humidity (%): The Minimum Relative Humidity would be 42% - 48% in North
Telangana zone,36% -48% in Central Telangana zone 44% -58% in South Telangana Zone.
Wind speed (kmph): The wind speed would be 10-20 Kmph in North Telangana Zone,10-20
Kmph in Central Telangana zone 15-26 Kmph South Telangana.
Wind direction (deg): The predominant wind direction would be South-Westerlies to WesNorth -Westerlies over the Telangana state.

Part B: Zone Wise Agro-meteorological Advisories
WEATHER BASED AGRO-ADVISORIES FOR THE STATE OF TELANGANA
TELANGANA ZONE
WEATHER BASED AGRO-ADVISORIES
•Southwest has set in over the Rayalaseema region of the state on 10th June and covered the entire
state by 13th June. Hence procure the seeds and fertilizers for

taking up timely sowing of rainfed crops like cotton, jowar, maize, castor, groundnut, pigeonpea,
greengram etc.
•Take-Up sowing of rainfed crops like cotton, maize, groundnut, jowar, soybean, pulses etc., only
after receiving cumulative rainfall of 50-75 mm or the soil should be wet upto top 15 cm after
onset of South-West monsoon rains.
•Do not sow cotton and soyben in light soils under rainfed conditions.
•By taking advantage of rains, take-up sowing of sunhemp and dhaincha as in-situ green manure
crop preceding rice.
Sow greengram as catch crop preceding rice under command areas and tanks.
•To prevent the seed borne diseases, treat the seeds of major crops like rice, redgram,greengram,
groundnut with fungicides.
•Raise rice nurseries of medium and long duration varieties.
Sweet Orange
•Incidence of Mite is noticed. To control, spray Wettable sulphur @ 3 g or Dicofol @ 5 ml or
Propargite @ 2 ml per litre of water.
Vegetables
•Leaf blight is noticed in tomato. To control, spray Carbendazim 12 % + Mancozeb 63% WP @
2 g or Mancozeb + Metalaxyl @ 2 gm per litre of water.
•If incidence of leaf spots is noticed in leafy vegetables. To control, spray Carbendazim 12% +
Mancozeb 63% WP @ 2 g per litre of water.
•If incidence of tobacco mosaic virus is noticed in tomato. To control, spray Fipronil @ 2 ml or
Dimethoate @ 2 ml per litre of water.
•Incidence of shoot and fruit borer is noticed in brinjal. To control
− Clip the infested shoots and destroy
−Spray Profenophos @ 2 ml or Emamectin benzoate @ 0.4 g per litre of water.
•To prevent the incidence of seed born diseases in Tomato, Brinjal and Chilli nurseries treat the
seed with Thairam @ 3g per kg of seed followed by seed treat with Trichoderma Viridi @ 8 g per
kg.
•If incidence of sucking pests is noticed in nurseries spray with Dimethoate @2ml per litre or
Imidacloprid @ 0.3 ml per litre of water.
Cattle and buffaloes
•Prevailing weather conditions are congenial for the occurrence of

Foot and mouth disease in cattle,
−
Sheep pox in sheep
−
Ranikhet disease in poultry
To prevent the diseases, vaccinate the animals
