ABOUT INCAM 2015
INCAM 2015 is the culmination of efforts made by Applied Mechanics departments
in the country, to provide a technical platform for discussion among researchers in
this field. Continuing from the first conference (INCAM 2013 @ IITM), it is hoped that
this conference will have sufficient enthusiasm and will pave way for many more
such technical enclaves in the future.
INCAM 2015 is being organized by the Department of Applied Mechanics, Indian
Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi.

ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED MECHANICS
Applied Mechanics as a general field of study has been in existence in India and abroad for
several decades. The Department of Applied Mechanics at IITD has grown into a full fledged
inter disciplinary graduate research department over the decades. It interfaces the
fundamental principles of physics and mathematics with their applications in diverse
engineering disciplines. The broad areas of research in our department are solid mechanics,
fluid mechanics, design engineering and materials engineering.
The Department has played a major role in contributing to the academic community and
society. The faculty have won national and international recognition for their fundamental
and applied research. Some of the facilities available in various laboratories of this
Department are unique in the country.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, is one among the foremost institutes of national
importance in higher technological education, basic and applied research. Located
in South Delhi, IITD is a self-contained residential institute. It has established itself
as a premier center for teaching, research and industrial consultancy in the country.
The institute has several academic departments, research centers and schools in
various disciplines of engineering and pure sciences, with numerous laboratories
organized in a unique pattern of functioning. Faculty of international repute, brilliant
student community, excellent technical & supporting staff and an effective
administration has contributed to excellence of IIT Delhi.

Delhi. We invite you for INCAM 2015. Please come and enjoy your stay in a

Abstracts are invited for oral/poster presentation in the broad areas of bio-mechanics, solid
mechanics, fluid mechanics, design engineering, material engineering and renewable &
non-conventional energy. Two page extended abstracts are invited as primary submission.
After peer review, the authors (opting for oral presentation) of accepted abstracts will be
invited to submit full paper. For the format of abstract and full paper, please refer to our

A half-day workshop will also be organized in the broad area of “Computational Mechanics”.
The workshop will have three parallel sessions on (i) Advanced Finite Element Method (ii)
Multiscale modeling and computation (iii) CFD and turbulence modeling.
This conference is particularly useful for graduate students, academicians, faculty and other
professionals in the related fields. Participants from universities, research labs, defence labs
and related industries are encouraged to participate.
