JOB DESCRIPTION
The Israeli-American Council (IAC) mission is to build an active and giving Israeli-American community
throughout the United States in order to strengthen the State of Israel, our next generation, and to
provide a bridge to the Jewish American Community.
Sifriyat Pijama B’America’s (SP-BA) mission is to enhance knowledge and affinity to Jewish values from a
young age and to retain a strong Jewish identity and appreciation of Hebrew, by reading together and
discussing books from a Jewish perspective as a family.
SP-BA mails free children’s book in Hebrew to over 10,000 Hebrew speaking families throughout the
United States. SP-BA has over 90 partners nationwide who host free reading & activity events open for

The IAC is seeking an SP-BA Program Director.
The SP-BA Program Director reports to the CPO.
DUTIES INCLUDE:




Programmatic Strategy & Development – Oversee and lead marketing, promotion, delivery,
implementation and quality of SP-BA Program. Create and implement program’s annual
strategy. Oversee partner relationship nationwide and development, event marketing, grant
management and customer service. Manage the program’s data base.
Budget Management – Create, oversee and implement the program’s annual budget. Monitor
adherence to approved budgets. Oversee partners’ grant program.
Team Management – Direct supervision of the program coordinators and the IAC regional SP-BA
staff. Oversee a support team including temporary employees and volunteers. Manage
relationships with other organizations in the community and outside vendors. Work with
program steering committees in developing the program.
Marketing and Technology - Overseeing the program’s brand development and marketing.
Create content and manage the program social media and website. Overseeing public relations
and organizational outreach. Create and manage the program’s marketing plan.

Event Management- ability to professionally plan, coordinate and manage events for the
program that will accomplish the goals of the program organization. Oversee development and
frequency of SP-BA partners’ free reading & activity events.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum 2 years of Program Director experience (or alternatively 5 years of Program
Manager experience), in the Israeli and/or Jewish sector a plus.




Strong high level planning and monitoring capabilities and ability to manage a team
effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite products, high level Excel skills required, and social
networking tools.
Highly efficient and organized.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Good operational & administrative management

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to get along with all levels within the organization.




Speaks, reads and writes in English and Hebrew as mother tongue.
Ability to multi-task and work independently.
Team player with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
Event management a plus including social media strategy

