To whom it may concern,
Because you are planning to audition for the Legacy Orchestra, you are receiving this notice. Please
understand that you have not yet been placed in the Legacy Orchestra. However, because you are striving for
membership in the group, you are receiving this notice as a precautionary measure to help you manage your
possible future commitments.
For the first concert next fall we will be preparing our entry in the Texas Honor String Orchestra competition.
The unique thing about this competition is that the entry deadline is very early – mid October. Therefore, we
must hit the ground running in the fall.
To that end, on August 12 and 13 from 9am to noon, members selected for the Legacy Orchestra will have a
two day summer camp at Jasper. This is a mandatory camp unless you are out of town or enrolled in some
other activity. If you must book summer airfare or travel before audition results are announced (the last week
of school), please do your best to schedule it to accommodate your possible attendance these two days.
