EVENT REPORT
Expert Lecture on Smart RFIC
An
Expert Lecture on ‘Smart RFIC’ by Dr.Tian-Wei Huang
was scheduled on March 30,2015 at Department of
Electronics and Communication, L. D. College of Engineering
(LDCE), Ahmedabad, Gujarat, under IEEE Gujarat Section and
IEEE Antenna and Propagation Society (APS)/Microwave
Theory and Techniques(MTT) chapter. The lecture topic was
about millimetre -wave Gigabit Transceivers with Digitallyenabled Built-in Self-calibration and Autoswitching Functions.
Scientists from SAC,ISRO,Ahmedabad , Faculty members and
around 70 enthusiastic student participants attended for the
expert
lecture.
The event was started with the prayer. Dignitaries, Dr. G. P.
Vadodariya(Principal, LDCE),Shri Rajeev Jyoti Sharma(Chair,
IEEE APS, Gujarat Section) and Dr.Tian-Wei Huang (IEEE APS
distinguished
lecturer,
Professor
of
Electrical
Engineering,National Taiwan University) were warmly
welcomed with Bouquets of flowers. Prof. Usha
Neelakantan,HoD-EC department delivered welcome speech
and gave brief importance and applications of Antenna and
Propagation. Dr. G. P. Vadodariya invigorated students with
his inspirational words. Shri Rajeev Jyoti Sharma gave brief
knowledge about importance of IEEE as well as threw light on
number of events to be done under APS in the following
recent
year.
Dr.Tian-Wei Huang started his lecture with good insight by
giving introductory knowledge of Smart RFIC. He, then,
explained the students about the millimetre wave technology
in detail. At our surprise, He also told about the research that
is going on in Taiwan for 60GHz wave technology.
Later, he shared a research which was about 100 no. of very
small patch antennas in a single device. Moreover, he also
explained about the technology that can reduce car accidents
using automatic switching technology.He ensured this
technology as future of automatic cars as it can judge and
command
faster
than
human
mind.

talk.It is expected that in the future more such events would
be organized at the institute in association with IEEE AP/MTT
chapter.The Lecture was concluded with worthy
knowledgeable experience, Technology expands with
