Lewannick Village Hall
on return at the Hall
Lewannick Parish Council held
their ordinary meeting at Polyphant Village Hall
on Wednesday 18 March. The meeting
commenced at 20.00 hours.
There were three planning applications for
consideration, all of which were supported by
Lewannick Parish Council, namely:
PA15/01437 Moor View, Old Hill, Lewannick,
Launceston, to make an additional car parking
space.
PA15/01291 Retention and completion of
conversion of barn to a dwelling. Including an
extension and garage (previously approved).
Stables at Trelaske Manor, Lewannick.
PA15/01272 Sand School and change of use from
agricultural to equestrian (no agricultural use of
the land for 8 years).
Finance: Invoices for payment R Morley cleaning bus shelters, Lewannick - £50.
Polyphant Methodist Church £49,00 for hiring of
hall with respect to committee meetings and
£14.00 hire of hall for defibrillator meetings.
Cornwall Council £570.00 tree safety inspections
carried out on 18 December 2014.
We have had a site meeting with Highways with
respect to Landers Lake, Lewannick and it is
understood that work will commence shortly
with respect to the flooding problems.
The speed of traffic through Lewannick was
brought to the attention of the Council by
concerned residents. The problem is
particularly serious at school collection and drop
off times. We urge everyone to have
consideration and care when driving through the
village.
There will be a further defibrillator training on
Monday 20 April 7 - 9.
Our next ordinary meeting is scheduled to take
place on Wednesday 15 April. The meeting will
be held at Lewannick Village Hall commencing at
20.00 hours. Members of the public are
welcome to attend.

Micro Library Update
A few people expressed their interest in the Micro
Library idea, but only two volunteered their services
to help cover the six hours a week we would need to
keep it open (as prescribed by Cornwall Council). The
idea was to create a sociable drop-in point for tea
and a chat and a change of library books. Lewannick
Village Hall would be willing to provide space, or at
least one other Cornish micro library has been set up
in a pub (subject to negotiation). I am certain we
could raise the necessary funding via grants, but
sadly, if we can't get more volunteers, we'll have to
drop the idea, for now at least.
If you are interested in helping please contact
David Eno - 782352 or [email protected].
