Description This thesis studies the possibility of having hand designed features and deep features
to be used in predicting the difficulty of the user query with respect to a particular
measurement (e.g Average Precision) and then find out the most suited information
retrieval configuration that can response perfectly to the query based on its difficulty.

Description This thesis aims at finding new hand designed features extracted from the email
header session to classify the new coming emails as Spam or Ham. The classification
spam model was built using machine learning algorithms such as Support Vector
Machine and Random Forest where the obtained accuracy was more than 99% with
very low false positive rate. Beside the proposed new features, we investigated
a new feature associated with the sender of email termed as Trust feature. This
important feature traces the behaviour of email sender maintained on the server
side since such feature has been inspired by the hypothesise which states that the
sender whose emails are classified as spam, the probability of being spam for the
coming spam is very high as well as for the ham emails.

scratch for labs (i.e Real Time Systems, Micro-controller labs) to be carried out then by
students in their lab time, and supervising on the graduation projects of the department
students.
