MATTRESS CARE

M AT T R E S S C O.
Giving your McRoskey some regular TLC will ensure that
you enjoy lasting comfort for the life of your mattress.
FLIP AND ROTATE
REGULARLY
To best protect your investment, alternately rotate and flip your mattress quarterly. If you give us
your email address, we’ll send you an email reminder. Rotate your boxsprings once a year.
FIRST 8 WEEKS
Starting two weeks after your mattress is delivered, use the handles to rotate the mattress from head
to foot. After another two weeks, use the handles to flip your mattress head end to foot end. Repeat
this two week pattern for the first two months of ownership. We recommend that you then flip and
rotate your mattress alternatively once a quarter to ensure lasting comfort. Check the label of your
mattress for full details or give us a call.
PROPER SUPPORT
To prevent sagging, use a bedframe that has rigid center support, and that supports the head,
foot, sides and center of the mattress and box spring. When you use a mattress and box spring in a
bedstead with bed slats, use at least three rigid, no-sag slats.
SURFACE
PROTECTION
Because staining and water damage void the warranty, we recommend that you protect your mattress
surface with our all-cotton mattress and waterproof pads. Vacuum or brush the surface of your
mattress, and expose it to air occasionally.
TO REMOVE
LIQUID SPILLS
Use towels to blot as much standing liquid as possible. Apply gentle pressure to help absorb the liquid
into the towels; do not press the liquid into the mattress.
TO REMOVE DRY
SMUDGES
Use an artist’s eraser (available at art supply stores).

TO CLEAN STAINS
Do not introduce more liquid into the mattress or box spring. If using soap and water, use a clean
cloth to apply the solution to the stain (cloth should not be too wet). Using a second clean dry cloth,
immediately blot the stained area gently. Repeat as necessary to remove or diminish the stain. If using
a spray carpet cleaner, spray a small amount of the cleaner directly on the stain. Using a dry clean
cloth, immediately blot the stained area gently. Repeat as necessary to remove or diminish the stain.
Always let the mattress or box spring dry completely before dressing the bed.
TO PREVENT
MILDEW
Mildew can occur as the result of the environment in which the mattress and box spring sit. Mildew is
not a warranted defect. Once it occurs, little can be done to stop or remove it. To help prevent mildew
from occurring, be sure your mattress and box spring have good air circulation around and under the
bed, expose the surface to air occasionally, and brush or vacuum the surface when convenient.
PROPER STORAGE
To keep your mattress or box spring clean and free from dust and dirt, bag it but do not seal it shut.
Store the mattress on its side - but not on its end. The box spring may rest on its side or on its end.
Always be sure to store your mattress or box spring in a clean, dry location.
DO NOT
• Do not smoke in bed or place product near any open flame, including candles.
• Do not allow your mattress to get wet. The filling materials may compress so protect it from water
and other liquids.
• Do not place a board between your mattress and box spring. The two are designed as an
integrated system to provide you with proper support. The box spring plays an important role.
• Do not remove the law tag label at the end of your mattress or box spring. The tag serves as a
means of identification to establish your warranty rights.
• Do not bend your mattress from side to side. You may ONLY bend it from head to foot.
