to call itself one of a handful of family-owned companies in the fashion
jewelry business. Founder Carol
Dauplaise has over 50 years of experience and the company’s next generation—Richard and Jeffrey—have taken

Based in New York City, the team

Whether under the Carol Dauplaise
brand or a private label name, the company works extremely closely with all of its
accounts.
“An exciting and growing portion of our business has been
reorders and replenishment,” says Richard Dauplaise. “And
since the jewelry industry has been difficult lately, buyers have been capitalizing on proven winners. It’s the
best way to improve sales and increase margin.”
Carol Dauplaise calls out the strongest and
largest trend for 2016 as “Shades of Blue.”
This category spectrum starts with light
shades like chambray, moves to mid
tones, then goes all the way to deep rich
colors of lapis and sodalite.
The second trend is Boho, which will be
designed for different customers from clean
simple metals to the more vibrant colorful
seed beads, wrapping details, fabrics and
tassels. The other three trends for spring
are Southwest, Black & White and
Americana.

CRISLU
Founded in 1961, CRISLU is a celebrated multinational brand, synonymous
with affordable luxury, high style and top
quality. CRISLU designs, manufactures
and markets jewelry made of flawless,
exquisitely cut cubic zirconia hand set in
precious metals and crafted in both classic and contemporary designs.
“Our designs have no glue and all are
set in fine jewelry techniques,” says
brand owner Bryan Crisfield, who notes
that CRISLU has significantly grown its
placement in fine jewelers. “We’re 100%
sterling silver finished in platinum, 18kt
yellow gold or rose gold. All jewelry is
also 100% hypo allergenic.”
All CRISLU jewelry features CZ or
synthetic gemstones. In metals, rose
gold is coming on strong. “We do the
right research to create the right designs,
packaging and price point to respond to
the needs and dreams of women worldwide,” says Crisfield.
CRISLU supports the brand’s classic “look of real”
and/or “affordable luxury” collection at least two designer
groups every month (“statement-related separates
inspired by both West and East Coast design
teams.”) Additionally, any styles from the monthly designer collections that for whatever
reason don’t sell through may be
stock balanced against the classic
core collection dollar for dollar at no
risk to the retailer.
CRISLU branded merchandise is a big
angle, shining in a largely unbranded bridge
industry. Look for Andrew Prince on the CRISLU
stand in January in New York, as the company is
launching an upscale bridal line. CRISLU also has a strong
private label business in fashion jewelry. All CRISLU jewelry
is guaranteed for life through its lifetime warranty program.

Dreams
FRAAS has always combined
tradition and innovation with
success; manufacturing scarves
and textile accessories in Germany
for the past 135 years.
In 1880, hand weaver Valentin
Fraas began making scarves,
neckerchiefs and shawls in his oneman operation in Wüstenselbitz; a
small Upper Franconian town with
a great textile tradition.
In those days, weavers could only
produce 143 scarves maximum a
day; today, the fifth generation
produces daily more than 280-times
as many (600 worldwide employees
work at 25 locations for FRAAS,
manufacturing up to 12 million
scarves annually).
FRAAS continues to produce
high-quality scarves with special
attention to detail in the family
tradition.
“Our company-owned
manufacturing locations worldwide
have made FRAAS the world‘s leading
manufacturer in the distribution and
sales of scarves and textile
accessories whose exceptional
quality is prized by globally
active brands and specialty
stores,” says the company.
The philosophy of FRAAS
is expressed through the
high standards in design
