VILLAGE OF MILL NECK WEST SHORE ROAD UPDATE

SOUTHERN PHASE
The West Shore Road Southern Phase began on January 5th. The southern portion from the
railroad overpass to Cleft Road will reopen this evening. Tomorrow they will close the Northern
end at the Bayville Bridge. Residents and services only should be traveling north of Cleft Road.
During the two weeks of road closure, residents north of Sea View Drive, including 900 West Shore
Rd, Mill Neck Estates and Creek Lane may be detoured through Bayville as the contractor moves
their equipment to drive the sheathing. The northern closure is scheduled to be open for
Memorial Day weekend. Work will continue on both of the sections shoulders with flagmen until
completion which should be in the fall. A final layer of asphalt will also be done.
Please take extra care traveling through the detours. Nassau County has provided a new detour
map which will be posted on the Village website. The Old Brookville Police Department continues
to do a good job deterring speeding on our Village roads. We will continue to monitor the situation
and advise you of any changes.
