Since the inception of this workshop in 1983, there have been
many notable and brilliant performances. As you peruse this
year’s schedule, you’ll see another world-class lineup—Patrick
Sheridan, Dr. Brian Bowman, Demondrae Thurman,
Dr. Benjamin Pierce, and Marty Erickson.
Once again we have organized a Mock Service Band Audition
which will be held from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday. A
new addition to our event is the Tuba-Euphonium Workshop
Composition Contest. We received 49 chamber pieces of varying
combinations for tuba and euphonium. A recital on Thursday at
3:30 p.m. will showcase the winning compositions. There will
be vendors in the Fort Myer Community Center on Friday from
noon to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Also, please spread the word that ALL workshop events will be
live web streamed at usarmyband.com for those who are unable
to attend in person.
I hope you will enjoy your visit to Brucker Hall and leave with
fond memories of great performances, new insights, and lasting
friendships.
