Norway - Africa Energy Summit - Norwegian
Norway - Africa Energy Summit
Latter, Aker Brygge/Oslo, Norway, 8th of April 2015, 11:30-16:30
Africa is home to 13% of the worlds population, but only accounts for 3% of energy use. This energy
deficit is stifling both social and economic development. The world is starting to wake up to the potential
of Africa’s energy market; however, if sustainable growth and development is to be achieved, over $800
billion in investment will be needed over the next decades.
In Norway, a strong cluster of companies focused on financing, building and operating electricity
production is forming. As predictions expect the demand for energy in Africa to quadruple by 2040, the
Norway - Africa Energy Summit, hosted by NABA and Norfund, will look at the continent’s energy
prospects and address how Norway can be a partner in developing the region’s energy resources.
