Toddler-Friendly Fiestas
Sometimes it can be hard to find fun places for babies and toddlers
that are kid-safe too. Cypress area venues, such as Beyond Bounce
and The Little Gym, offer up fun activities for the under-three
crowd. Babies and toddlers don’t have the coordination that is required for some traditional birthday activities enjoyed by older kids,
but that’s exactly the focus at The Little Gym in Copperfield.
“We work on growing the physical development of the
child at their motor skill level in a non-competitive environment,” says Owner/Manager Catherine West.
A typical toddler birthday party at The Little Gym includes
play time with bubbles, balls, a parachute, the Air Trak (like
the bottom of a moonwalk), circle time, and supervised free
play on the gymnastics equipment. Children may also practice forward rolls, cartwheels or other tumbling skills.
Program Director Ashlee Garcia adds, “It’s individual
to what each child likes, whether it be balance sticks, [play]
scarves, balls or the parachute.”
Parent Margaret Sokol chose The Little Gym for her son
Mark’s third birthday party because of its staff’s interaction
with the kids. “They were so much more involved with the
kids than at [other birthday party venues].”
Big Kid Birthday Blasts
Once children pass that toddling stage, a new world of party possibilities opens up. Some Cypress-area birthday party options for
ages 4 and up include Cypress Academy of Gymnastics, ITz, and
Copperfield Bowl.

“The primary reason I had a party there again is that it is a lot of
fun,” Forsyth says. “I’ve had so many comments from parents that
it was such a fun party.”
IT’z takes the kids pizza party a step beyond by offering more
than just arcade games and prizes. Cy-Fair’s newest area party
mecca has bowling, indoor carnival rides, and great entertainment all under one roof. A party hostess plans everything for your
child’s big event and the birthday kid gets a special gift and a take
home mug.
An Air of Refinement
If your prince or princess wants some royal fun, a tea party or
cookie decorating celebration might be just what the fairy godmother ordered. Posh Cookies bakery and Tea for Two tea room
deliver the goods.
An area-favorite tea room, Tea for Two, offers a dress-up tea
party, as well as a cake baking or pizza making party for kids at
both of their locations.
A visit from a local Girl Scout troop prompted Posh Cookies
owner, Shelen Losciale, to offer cookie baking parties at her bakery.

“The girls ended up liking it so much, that I decided we could
incorporate cookie decorating into parties,” says Losciale, a former
stay-at-home mom who opened her bakery in 2003.
At Posh Cookies’, kids get enough dough to make four to six
sugar cookies each. Party goers decorate their delectables using
variety of cookie cutters, icing colors, and sprinkles. While the
cookies bake, children eat a Posh-made birthday cake and make
candy necklaces. Once the cookies cool, party participants takehome a favor box, including cookie cutter, recipe card, an apron
and another fresh cookie from the bakery.
