“…and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the
measure of all the fullness of God.” Eph. 3:19
I recently read an article about how we wear busyness as a badge of honor. When
asked how we’re doing, we often respond that we are busy. There is so much going
on in our lives, dashing from one event to another, running errands, and just trying to
keep it all together. In my own life I know this song and dance of busyness all too
well. It can really wear on you after a while. The idea of adding something else during the season of Lent can be a little too much for those of us who are defined by our
busyness. But perhaps it is precisely because of our busyness that God calls us to a
season of fasting and prayer. We need to step back and re-evaluate our lives and our
devotion. We do this so that our lives can be transformed from busy to full; full of
love and joy, full of holiness and faithfulness, full of peace and grace. Coming to our
Lenten lunches, using the Lenten devotional, and participating in the Holy Week services are all great ways to carve out just a little bit of time in the midst of our busy
lives. As we join together in these Lenten disciplines of devotion and worship, may
your life become empty of all that keeps you from the fullness of God, and may the
fullness of God fill you in every way.

Join us Palm Sunday, March 29, at
11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary as the
Chancel Choir presents “Once Upon a
Tree” by Pepper Choplin. Sunday
school will meet at 9:45 a.m. The 8:30
and 9:00 a.m. worship services will
resume on Easter Sunday.
No UM Kids, no evening worship in the
Chapel, everyone is invited to bring their
lawn chairs and meet in the Meditation
Garden for an outdoor service! Afterwards, we’ll chow down on some chips and
hamburgers!

Montgomery Biscuits Baseball Trip

Sign up now to attend a Montgomery Biscuits Game and
fireworks show on April 24. We will leave the church at
4:00 p.m., stop to eat, then head over to Riverwalk Stadium.
Another trip is planned for the May 22 game.
A minimum of 8 people needed.
The cost for each Biscuits Game is $20.00 per person for
fuel and a premium game ticket.
