Cub Scout Biathlon - Pine Tree Council
Cub Scout Biathlon
Camp William Hinds
146 Plains Road, Raymond, ME
April 18th, 2015
9:30 am to 12:30 pm & noon to 2:30 pm
(once registered, you will receive a time block)
BIATHLON is the sport of cross country skiing and rifle shooting. It
originated from the Norwegian culture as a form of training and
exercise. Thanks to a generous gift from Wal-Mart, the sport of
Biathlon is coming to the Pine Tree Council. The Cub Scout Biathlon is
intended as a fun introduction for Scouts and their families that will
kindle interest in healthy, outdoor sports.
Cub Scouts will be coached by volunteer instructors, learn about the
sport of biathlon, winter safety, BB and pellet gun use, and become familiar with common pieces of winter
camping gear. Participants can use snowshoes if more comfortable, and move up to skis when they feel
ready. Snow shoes, skis, BB and pellet guns, and other equipment are provided. Lunch is included, and
each participant will earn a special Cub Scout Biathlon Participant Patch.
Team scores will be tracked through out the winter, spring, and fall. The pack with the highest score will
receive a DISCOUNT on their camp registration fees for the 2016 camp season!
The cost to attend is $5 per participant, and packs may attend as many Biathlon weekends as they
wish. Each biathlon weekend is limited to the first 50 participants - so sign up now using the registration
form below.
