Brown and Stefan Potts were awesome at the Chess Tournament,”

top player for Grade 11 as well as

Society Heritage Day
Training Upstream
Mr. Bartuska was invited to visit the US Coast
Guard Academy in Groton, Connecticut, along
with 45 other educators from around the country.
Attendees toured the campus, met with staff and
students, learned how the Academy educates cadets emphasizing academics, physical wellbeing, character development, and leadership.

April is National Poetry Month
We are sponsoring three activities:

Activity #1-Poetry
Contest Please encourage your
students to submit their poem
and place on the Poet Tree located in the main media center.
Our Media Committee will review the entries and we will
award prizes for 1st-3rd place.
Teachers of the winning students will also be recognized.
FCA Fundraisers
FCA is selling Tropical Smoothie Café
coupon books for $10.00 to help raise
funds for final club activities for the
school year. The Coupon Books have
over $35.00 in savings on tasty and
healthy tropical smoothie drinks and
foods. Please see Coach Troutman or a
FCA student for your coupon book. Get
them while supplies last.


Activity #2-Put a Poem in Your Pocket Day on
April 30. Students will be encouraged to grab a poem
from the Media Center Display and place it in their pocket
to read to others during the day. Students may also write
own poems.
Activity #3-My Selfie Poem Students can take Selfies
and type out a poem about themselves. We want all selfies
to be posted in the library (See designated area)
Girls—Join the Devil’s Angels Dance Team
Join us for a meeting on April 7 at 2:15 for all
girls interested in the Angels Dance Team.
Tryouts will be held May 4—May 9. Please
stop by Q Wing/Building 16, Room 011 to
pick up a tryout packet. Questions, see Ms.
Rue.

Literary Magazine
Be a part of our new Literary Magazine at Kathleen High School. Mrs. Lavery is accepting
black and white artwork, photos, poetry, short stories and other submissions of literary
merit. We are currently gauging interest, so
initial submissions should be made by April
20th Electronic submissions can be sent to

submissions can be dropped off in Q-41.
CFAA submissions can contact Mrs. Sasser for directions on how to submit their work.
