birthday. So, we

Dillon. Before the cutting of the bone-shaped birthday cake and the opening of
the gifts, Mason visited each of the residents, bringing each one of them a little
bit of joy. Truly, there is just something therapeutic about petting a dog. Happy
Birthday, Mason!

We had a magical time
when singer/magician
Raushan Hammond and his
assistant, Sandy, visited Savannah Grand. This talented performer from
Hollywood, Calif., really put on a show. We have had many talented
entertainers, but this was something special. In between the numerous
Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin songs that Raushan sang, he performed
wonderful magic feats, such as making beautiful white birds appear
out of nowhere. The residents loved it! Raushan said that they would
be back through the Sarasota area again next year.
Who knows, maybe they will magically appear next year?
A Tropical Happy Hour
The weather has been typically hot this summer, so
we decided to cool things down with a Tropical Happy
Hour. B.C. Hathaway and Ross picked up on a tropical
theme, as they provided the afternoon’s music. Of
course, there were delicious culinary delicacies and
refreshing drinks to cool down. Perhaps the highlight
of the afternoon was our own Sadie K., who wowed
us all with her high-stepping dance moves with Ricky
Russell. That gal sure loves to dance!

Letter from the Executive Director
It is hard to believe that we will be celebrating fall this month! We’ve had a very
warm summer so far with plenty of rain and hopefully no big storms to come. We will
also be enjoying a Labor Day cookout and I am sure Jackie will have
something very tasty planned.
This month we will also be having a lot of fun during National Assisted
Living Week (Sept. 9-13). View the calendar and invite your families
and friends to any or all of the activities we have planned. Everyone
will particularly enjoy Michael White and his famous caricatures.
Congratulations to Joann Fralin for being voted Employee of the
Month and a special thank you to every associate at Savannah Grand
for the special part you play on the team.
