restaurant is an experience like no other.
While you’re whetting your appetite with your
carefully crafted starter, you might find yourself

choice at Carton House. And if you fancy eating
outdoors, why not ask us to make up a picnic so

equipped and beautifully decorated meeting
rooms. All different sizes, combining the
traditional and the modern, according to your
needs.
Extremely adaptable, the Carton Suite is
our jewel, especially with the sparkling light
of its delicate, contemporary chandeliers.
It can cater for up to 500 delegates or 360
diners. Alternatively, the Kildare Suite can
accommodate 100 people. Need a suitable
venue for a seminar? Want to run a quiet
workshop? There’s always the Library or the
Duke and Duchess Study.

The Montgomerie course, winner of Golf
World’s “Best New Design of the Year 2004” is a
serious test. Designed by Colin Montgomerie,
it’s a journey across sweeping fairways,
cavernous bunkers and impeccable greens. It’s
an adventure from first to last and is proud to
have hosted the world’s finest golfers at the
2005 and 2006 Irish Opens.

The O’Meara Course winds its leisurely way
through acres of glorious pastures amongst
the dappled shade of the ancient trees. This
classic parkland course might lull you with its
beauty but is still full of challenges.

You’ll find yourself skirting the banks of the
River Rye then sending the ball soaring over
its golden waters. And, when you cross the
greens, it is as if your feet float on a thousand
velvet kisses from beneath. An exquisite course
that leaves you breathless with admiration and
exhilaration throughout every one of its 7,006
yards.
Training facility
The exceptional facilities at Carton House
enable teams to train and work in a private and
exclusive environment. The training facility
hosts two full-size soccer pitches, two fullsize rugby pitches and a GAA (Gaelic Football
and Hurling) pitch of equal dimensions to
Croke Park. The sporting facilities - which were
officially opened in May 2009 - were chosen by
Real Madrid C.F. to host its 10 day pre-season
training camp before the 2009/2010 season
and by the British and Irish Lions for their
summer training camp. Located in a sheltered,
fully enclosed section of the Carton House
Estate, the planning of the facility has been
meticulous, ensuring both excellent pitch
conditions and privacy.
The great outdoors
Besides 36 holes in rolling countryside, we’ve
got some fantastic outdoor activities to
challenge anyone’s stamina. We have even
created a private sports training facility for
professional teams which is one of the best
facilities in Europe. Ireland Xtreme’s themed
zone at Carton House is the first of its kind
in Ireland. Onsite activities range from
motivational team building programmes to
Altitude, Ireland’s newest high and low ropes
course, and 4x4 driving.
Carton House is also home to the GUI National
Academy, the oldest golfing union in the world.
The Academy has a floodlit driving range, three
USGA approved greens and two state-of-theart swing analysis suites.
Our fishery consists of 4.5 kilometres of the
beautiful River Rye. The river is a rich chalk
stream and is home to wild brown trout. It has
been described as one of the most productive
chalk streams in the country. And if you are still
looking for outdoor activity why not avail of
two outdoor tennis courts.
Take your time
Coming from Dublin City Centre turn off the
N4 to Celbridge West, you’re just a few minutes
away.
If you’re coming from the west, take the N4 to
Dublin, leave at the Celbridge West exit and
follow the signs. Be sure to take your time on
the Carton House driveway. You’ll enjoy the
scenery and we’ll be waiting to give you a warm
reception.
