Description of Project: The RBA Group was commissioned to evaluate the “Great Lawn”
area of the former Jersey City Medical Center property, which is now being renovated to
provide over 2,000 luxury residential condos. The “Great Lawn” is one of the most well
known historical areas within Jersey City and one of the largest renovation projects in the State
of New Jersey. The RBA Group has been providing engineering oversight/design for this
project since 2007 and was recently asked to provide a Master Plan for the “Great Lawn” area
to provide additional recreational amenities for the residents. The Master Plan included: a
playground area, community gardens, walking trail, renovated historic fountain and passive
recreational areas. Once the Master Plan was completed, RBA also prepared design plans for
each of these areas which are presently under construction.
