INVESTING TODAY TO SECURE A BETTER TOMORROW:
DEVELOPMENT AND MODERNIZATION OF IASI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
1. Stage 1 – action 1:
– 2400 m long and 60 m wide new runaway (running path acces platform extension;
expansion of the embarkation/disembarkation platforms; runaway lead-in lighting system
for operating class II ICAO; platform lighting system; power plant etc.).
– Investment value: 49,29 mil. EUR (state budget and own resources);
– Public tender closed; signing the contract within next few days.

Boeing B767, Airbus A310

Strategic investment development plan:
1. Stage 1 – action 2:
– taxiways and quick escape routes (Bravo and Charlie); new embarkation/disembarkation
platform for 4 Class C and 6 class D aircraft; connection road between the new platform
and the current passenger terminal; lead-in lighting system for class II etc.
– investment value: 39,80 mil. EUR (European funds);

BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE:
IAȘI INDUSTRIAL PARK
Initiator and main shareholder: Iași County Council.
Partner: Local Council of Miroslava, Iași County.
Miroslava is located in the center of Iasi County, 30 km away from
the river of Prut.
Main road connections: DN28 (E583), DJ248A, DJ248.
Links with other functional areas of the country provided by the railway system.
Iaşi International Airport is located only 15 km away.
Main advantages: the presence of a major investor in the area (Delphy Diesel Systems Romania);
utilities available accross the commune of Miroslava.
Expected funding sources: capital contribution; loans from banks and other financial institutions;
concessions in advance and PPP.
The Industrial Park will provide: field concession for Romanian and foreign investors; development
support services; security and sanitation services; technological transfer; legal and technical
assistance; contact with local authorities; counselling for infrastructure development.

OPTIMIZING SUPPLY CHAIN COSTS
Headquarter of the
Intermodal Center
The project consists in the execution of the railway, road and
parking infrastructure works, thus ensuring the interconnection to the national railway and road network, as well
as to utilities.
The Intermodal Center is planned to be financed by the
Transport Sectoral Programme. Due to the lack of funds of
the current EU programme, it is estimated that the investment
will be accomplished in several stages:
temporary storage platform of intermodal freight units
(especially containers);
provision of utilities (electricity, drainage, water supply,
sewerage, etc.).
rail access and related railway infrastructure;
road and rail infrastructure within the terminal.
At the end of 2012, the public procurement was approved
for the acquisition of technical and economic
documentation. The procedure is ongoing.
