At the Bryerpatch Studio you
will be dazzled by the
large-scale illusions of light,
space, and motion hand-dyed
and stitched by textile artist
Caryl Bryer Fallert. The colors,
lines, and textures of both
her geometric work and her
more organic abstracts,
engage the spirits and
emotions of viewers, evoking
a sense of mystery,
excitement, and joy.
Caryl is internationally
recognized for her
award-winning fine-art quilts,
which have appeared in

The artists at Cowango Studios are keen to introduce you to another
world. Stefanie Graves and David Lucht share an abiding interest in
exploring the wide range of diversity represented by human culture. To
tour their gallery is to take a stroll around the world with them. Although
the glimpses of world culture might first strike you as exotic or unusual,
the subject always remains tightly focused on what it is that makes each of
us human.
Stefanie paints in watercolor, bathing her work in luminous washes of
color that flow into well-honed compositions inspired by places like
Mexico, Morocco and Bali.

Cowango Studios
David is a batik painter who uses this technique of fabric pattern design as
a new tool for painting. His method adheres to the traditional process of
applying hot wax to silk as a resist,
alternating the wax application with a
sequence of light-to-dark fabric dyes to
build up the composition. Only at the end
do we see the resulting picture when the
wax is removed and the image is revealed.
This year David Lucht and Stefanie Graves
will host the Cowango Studios tent at the
Festival where you can view their works
and purchase one for your collection. They
517 N 8th Street
will also be painting during the weekend,
(Note: Visit their booth on
Madison St. during the Art Festival) so stop by and catch some of their
enthusiasm!

LowerTown got its very own art supply store just about this time last year when
Jonathan and Cindy Hobson brought the Canvas Room to the neighborhood.
Michael Crouse
During the Festival they will proudly sponsor the work
of two instructors from the Paducah School of Art.
John Hasegawa will be demonstrating his ceramic art
at The Canvas Room as well as showcasing his work.
You’ll also enjoy seeing the fascinating hand-pulled fine
art prints on display from Michael Crouse of
LowerTown’s Brokenstone Press. Make a purchase
during the weekend and Canvas Room will donate a
portion of the art sales to the Paducah School of Art.
Other local artists may stop by to give demonstrations of new products during
the festival weekend so stop by often! Giveaways and door prizes during the
Festival will celebrate Canvas Room’s One-Year Anniversary! Their hours during
the festival are: Saturday 10a - 8p and Sunday 11a - 5p.
