The cara Meeting Point opens.
Welcome to the cara Meeting Point.
The cara Meeting Point is a web-based online software for the transfer of dental scan data.
On one hand, the cara Meeting Point can be used to upload the dentist’s cara TRIOS data that the
laboratory afterwards downloads from the Meeting Point. On the other hand, it is also possible to
send the construction data from Dental Wings , exocad and from 3shape scanners over the cara
Meeting Point into the cara production centre for manufactoring.
The cara Meeting Point can be used by:

cara TRIOS – made by 3Shape
In addition, use with other systems is also planned (as of June 2013).

Registration
The cara Meeting Point opens for you in just a few steps;
you can register quickly and easily via the online form:

3. You receive an e-mail with your log-in information comprising your user name and password.
Tip: You should change the password you are given to a personal password of your choice the first time you use the system.

Start the installation on the cara website: www.heraeus-cara.com

Application
Creating a personal order number
You can create a unique order number for each patient. If a patient requires more than one indication,
e.g., one crown and one onlay, these can be saved under the same order number.
The order number is created here.
Indication and material
I. Single tooth construction
Step 1 Selecting the tooth
Click on the required tooth in the diagram. The selected tooth is then highlighted.

Step 2 Indication
Click on the icon to select the indication – use the drop down menu to select the material and,
if applicable, the shade.

NOTE:
The icon of the respective model is always visible in the active editing step.

II. Bridge construction
Step 1 Selecting the teeth
Select the teeth by clicking on them in the diagram. The selected teeth are then colour coded and
identified as teeth. You can choose the indication by clicking at the appropriate symbol.

Step 2 Selecting the pontics
Now select the pontics by clicking on them. These are then colour coded and identified as pontics.

Step 3 Selecting the bridge
Now click on all the elements of the bridge construction and then click on “Bridge”.

Step 4 and 5 Selecting the material and shade
The drop down menu now shows you all the available materials and colours for the respective indication.
Select the required material and, if applicable, the colour.

Tip:
Incorrectly clicked or wrong tooth edited? You can use the “New” button to undo all the changes you
have made. CAUTION: This will delete all the changes you have made!

Instructions on data transfer from cara Trios to the laboratory
1. Log in to the cara Meeting Point with your access data.
2. Now select the 1 “Tracking” button …

… and click on 3 “Open order” for the required cara Trios 2 order.

You can now see the order as created by the dentist: in this way, you can also make a note of important
information, such as the tooth number, tooth shade, construction type etc. on a separate order form.
Click on 4 “Scan export” to be able to export the data and thus edit them further.

A new window now opens where you have to specify where to save the files. For example: Say you want
to create a folder called “TRIOS” on the deskop where you will save all cara TRIOS files. Select the folder
with the left mouse button and click on “OK”.

All the data are now saved in your folder and can be processed with the ModelBuilder.

… and can now be imported into the Dental Manager and then edited with the ModelBuilder. To do so,
right click in the empty window. This opens a new window. Click on “Advanced > Import” in this window.

Now select “Import orders generated by an external system” in the new window and highlight
“3shape Communicate Order Exchange”. Confirm with OK.

Use the left mouse button to select the folder in which your files were saved. Then select the “.3oxz file”
again and confirm with OK.

... now the order form opens along with the message that the settings for the order need to be checked.
Confirm the message with OK. You can now change the order if necessary (e.g., material, etc.) and
confirm with OK.

If you have changed the material links, the following window opens once you have confirmed the order
form with OK. Confirm this window with Save if the material links should also be used for future orders
from the same dentist. If this is not the case, confirm with “Don’t save”.

Double-click the order to open the ModelBuilder and continue editing the order.

Dental Wings data transfer
Instructions on Dental Wings data transfer
Select the order with the left mouse button to highlight it.

Now right-click on the highlighted order. This opens a window: select “Create milling files” with the left
mouse button.

A new window now opens where you have to specify where to save the files. For example: You can save
a folder called “Milling” on the desktop. You can save all the STL milling files in it that need to be sent
from a third-party system to the cara Meeting Point or the cara production centre.
Now select the folder where you have saved your files and click on “Save” with the left mouse button.

Log in to the cara Meeting Point with your log-in information. Create the order in the Meeting Point using
the “Edit cara order” function.

Once the order is created, click on 1 “Send order”.

The files / STL files need to be attached before you send the order to the cara production centre.
Click on the 2 “Add STL” button (right of the tooth colour). This opens a new window in which you can
select the folder with your saved milling files. By double-clicking on the folder you can add the required
files to your order.

Select your order and click on “Open” with the left mouse button.

The files are now attached to the order. Clicking on the “Send” button sends your order to the cara
production centre.

Click on “save scene”, and the data will automatically be saved in your CAD-Data File.

Click on „edit cara order“ to create a new order in cara Meeting Point.

A new window opens where you can select the folder with your CAD-Data.
Double-click on the folder to see your saved files.

Before sending, double-click on the STL-file to upload the file.

Click on the “Send” button to send your order to cara production centre.

Instructions on data transfer with 3shape third-party systems
Select the order with the left mouse button to highlight it.

Now right-click on the highlighted order. Then a window opens:
select “Advanced >> Create CAM output” with the left mouse button.

Log in to the cara Meeting Point with your access data.
Create the order in the Meeting Point using the “Edit cara order” function.

Once the order is created, click on 1 “Send order”.

select the folder with your saved milling files. By double-clicking on the “3shape” folder you can add the
required files to your order.

The order is now complete and can be sent to the cara production centre by clicking on “Send”.

Now please select the number of implants and pontics of the I-Bridge on the dental arch.

Click on 1 “I-Bridge”. You will now see that the I-Bridge is shown as a continuous bridge.

Next, choose the desired 2 Color and Materials.

Now click on 3 “I-Bridge Implant System”.

In the next step, you determine where the implants or pontics will be created. For this purpose please
choose and select for each implant: “type, manufacturer, system, and your desired implant diameter”.
To make changes, please do so tooth by tooth.

To create Pontics, please click on the desired tooth, and click on “Pontic”.

Here you can see the full-scale I-Bridge + implants including pontics. By clicking on individual implants,
you can control the selection again. Now click on “send order.”

If you do not want to send the I-Bridge files, you can also send your gypsum model to the production
center. Please select 1 “Physical model”. Would you like to order a “pick-up service” please also select
“Abhol Service.” Now click 2 “Senden”, and your created order will be sent to the production center.

After that a new window appears which confirms your order and gives you an order ID.
Important: please ship your model together with this ID!

Under “Tracking”, you can see the status of your order at any time.

Tracking
Here you are offered an overview of your open milling orders.
You can now check the settings again.
Caution: You cannot change any orders!
You can sort your orders using the drop down menu.
The progress bar shows the status of the ongoing production.
Clicking on the arrow opens a more detailed view for the individual order.
