Water is key!
Why drinking water is so important for cats!
It seems as though our cats only begin to truly flourish once the
temperature starts to rise. No wonder, seeing as how their ancestors
came from the dry desert regions of Northern Africa.
Nevertheless, our cats now also have an increased need for fluids. An adult
cat requires approximately 45 ml of fluids per kilogram body weight per day.
Therefore, if your cat weighs four to five kilos, it should drink between 180 and
225 ml per day. This is quite a lot for our lazy armchair tigers, who frequently suffer from
kidney damage due to a lack of proper hydration.
But don’t worry – you can encourage your cat to drink more by placing several water
bowls in your home. Likewise, a drinking fountain provides many kitties added incentive
to drink more.

Canary birds are a great pet to keep. Not

BARK IN THE PARK - MAXI ZOO
The Irish Blue Cross was established in 1945 and introduced its first mobile animal dispensary onto the streets
of Dublin in the early fifties. Since then, the charity has treated, vaccinated and arranged surgeries for well over
600,000 small animals through its mobile clinic service and Inchicore small animal clinic. In 2012 alone they
provided over 27,000 vaccinations, surgeries, neutering’s and other treatments to needy pets around Dublin.
Over the last number of years, the Irish Blue Cross have been running “Bark In the Park™”,
a fantastic day out which raises lots of much-needed funds for The Irish Blue Cross’
animal welfare work. The day consists of fantastic walks, great raffle prizes and of
course worthy winners (and many contenders!) for the coveted awards for Best Bark,
Shiniest Coat, Happiest Smile and Waggiest Tail!
Bark In the Park is kicking off again this year on the following dates:
