On April 19th the Canadian Oil Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) had a luncheon at the Kindersley &
District Museum. President Mark Scholz, spoke about misconceptions or misinformation spread by the opponents of
the oil and gas industry . many of them engaging in the talk by signing a petition to support building pipeline infrastructure in Canada. The purpose of the petition is ultimately help the 110,000 people who lost their jobs due to the downturn of the oil and gas sector, get back to work. Three concerns
gas industry
are: 1.half truths spread by opponents of the oil and
. 2. Give people an opportunity to stand up and demand respect for the industry . 3. People of Canada
have one of the best standards of living in across the world because we are able to consume oil and gas affordably
and produce it responsibly.
The Canadian Oil Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors, are coming to communities like Kindersley because they
feel it is one of the places that are really feeling the effects of the oil and gas industry, economic drop and they want to
give them the information to be able to fight for their rights. Mark Scholz said it is trouble some how much oil Canada
imports from countries with environmental, human rights, and labour standards , that we as Canadians don’t agree
with. The amount of dirty oil from different countries such as Nigeria. We could take this demand and fill it with the
Canadian pipelines. The casualties with the pipelines are so much less. Its getting the Eastern Canadian Provinces
and Prime minister to come a board, and they will be getting signatures to take to Parliament. Just with starting a
month and a half a go, they have well over 2000 signatures and need many more. You can sign , by going to .http://

Kindersley Chamber & Rotary Club Donate to the Food Bank
The Kindersley Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club teamed up and donated $
500.00 each to buy a upright freezer. With Guy’s Furniture helping to give a great deal,
to purchase this much needed appliance. Our region right now is going through a very
difficult time, with the economics being so low. As a result the need for the Food Bank is
in a much more needed demand. The Chamber wanted to do this, because we had a interest in helping out, in some way. The use of the stand up freezer will come in handy
with fresh bread being donated by the Kindersley Co-op, and to keep all of the meat , and
other supplies as fresh as possible. So, now the Food Bank will be able to keep more on
hand when it is needed. In the month of March, around 50 food hampers were handed
out in the Kindersley and Eatonia and Eston Areas. The Kindersley chamber of Commerce would like to offer a challenge to all of the chamber members to meet or beat the
donation. The Kindersley Inn will supply driver and the truck to pick up the supplies.
We would to say Many Thanks to our
