We are able to present the gospel to children and give them tools they need to continue to grow in Christ. Breakfast of Champions August 21, Don't miss the Breakfast of Champions! This is our final day of Mega Sports Camp during the Sunday school hour. Everyone is invited to this breakfast and you will be blessed by our children, and Pastor Sam will lead us in a short word. I am still looking for 16 people to decorate a table in the sports/Olympic theme! Contact Mary H. if you are interested, 733-9894. Teachers and Helpers Wanted! Teachers are needed for 6 weeks in the 4th grade and 5th Grade classes starting August 28th. Not sure about your ability to teach? We can help with that. Contact Mary H. Helpers needed for all aspects of the Children's program K-5th grade. Have a unique gift or talent? That might just be the thing we need in the Children's ministry! Learning by teaching A pretty common belief in education is that you don't truly know something until you teach it to others. During my time ministering to the children, I have had the opportunity to look at God's word with fresh eyes - all while helping to train up the children. Ministry is never easy but eternally worthwhile. If you are looking for a way to mix things up in your walk, please pray about serving in one of the ministries at our church. Remember that even the people who serve or teach in our church won't be perfect, so you will fit right in...and anything is possible! AБϻЅϿЈЃЈЁ 2016 he Awakening Conference with Eddie James is a free event on A u g u s t 19 & 2 0 at Felt's Park in Galax, sponsored by a group of local churches who have unified together with a vision for people to see the real Jesus, no church as usual, no agendas, no itinerary...just Jesus. We believe that our lives and community will be forever changed. Come join us at Awakening 2016! See Calendar insert for schedule details. T A WЉЌϾ ЀЌЉЇ ЎЂϿ MЏЍЃϽ MЃЈЃЍЎϿЌ August means that “school days” are just around the corner, so now is a great time to make your Wednesdays “choir days!” Rehearsals are held in the fellowship hall at 6:30 p.m., and we hope you’ll come be a part of leading in Sunday worship. It won’t be very long until preparations get underway for Christmas 2016, and we’re looking for all interested individuals to help fill the newly renovated choir loft. Join us for a great time of fellowship, and be watching for details in the September Forerunner. “Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim His salvation day after day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise.” 1 Chronicles 16:23-25 NIV CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST Donor Fund In Memory of: Gardner Brannon Mary E. We’ve had a hot summer this year, but the most beautiful thing is that no matter the weather, GOD is always faithful and HIS mercies a r e n e w every day. HIS faithfulness c o n t i n u e s to be evident among our congregation as we have been studying about how our LORD wants us to grow in Him so that we may live a life that sets the example in our community. Dear Church Family, I wish to express my gratitude for your kindness shown during the illness and death of my brother, Roger L. Corbin. Thank you so much for the beautiful cards, flowers, and food. Thanks so very much for your heartfelt prayers. I was overwhelmed with the Peace Lily. Christian friends and my church family made this experience easier to bear. Love (in Christ, our Lord), Martha & Royce Easter Also, I had the honor to speak and pray at the Unity Service at the Police Department. My prayer is that we, as a country and city, live united and that we all seek to do the will of our Lord and Savior every day. She can see how to fix a lot of things to have fun with, and can see what a fellow meant to do even if he didn't do it right. She can see when a feller is about to cry and she can see what to do to make him feel better. I asked her one day how she could see so good, and she said it was the way she learned to look at things as she got older. So when I get older, I want a pair of glasses just like Grandma's so I can see good too.” First Baptist Church 1024 E.
