True to WRX STI principles, driver control is
paramount and delivered through the tactile grip of
the smaller D-shaped steering wheel. The design
details that define the WRX STI are also evident in the
instrument cluster with easy to read white needles,
carbon trim panels and chrome sports pedals.

The interior of WRX STI is the result of the designers’ astute observation
of how the driver and passengers interact with the car. As a result,
nothing is superfluous and there’s a lightness that comes from
knowing every instrument has a vital role to perform. Steering
wheel-mounted controls allow for a seamless driving experience,
while the
red-based lighting featured in the instrument panel provides
a contrast to the WRX STI’s signature black.
The spacious cabin design is underpinned by a love of
driving. Both the driver and the passengers benefit from
more leg, elbow and shoulder room, while dual zone
climate control air-conditioning maintains optimum
cabin comfort. The superior eight harman
kardon®1 speakers, subwoofer and amplifier
have been custom tuned to the WRX STI’s
acoustics.

flexibility of 60/40 split rear seats adds a
new found versatility for both cargo and

Consistent across the Subaru WRX STI range is the famous
Subaru Boxer engine that has been designed to sit lower
and flatter in the engine bay than upright engines. Due to
this unique design it delivers less noise and vibration to the
cabin, while the lowered centre of gravity improves stability,
cornering and traction with the road. Coupled with the Subaru
WRX STI’s symmetrical drivetrain, this configuration delivers

systems incorporated into the new Subaru WRX STI include
the Active Torque Vectoring system which supplements the

Contrary to its motorsports heritage, WRX STI comprises equal measures of both power and
restraint. Driven by a 2.5-litre turbocharged horizontally-opposed Boxer engine, WRX STI delivers
maximum performance when you want it. But its superior power, is tempered by superior control.
The advanced Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (SAWD), which is at the heart of Subaru, is partnered
with WRX STI’s cutting edge Active Torque Vectoring system to enhance cornering by applying
braking force where required to keep you on line.
The six-speed close ratio manual transmission makes this a true driver’s car which is further
improved by the Advanced Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system, Electronic Stability Control
(ESC) and Active Torque Vectoring for the ultimate in handling. WRX STI is a beautifully balanced
car and a performance classic with a Multi-mode Driver Controlled Centre Differential (DCCD)
which allows you to control the centre Limited Slip Differential (LSD) to suit the road conditions, to

safety technology, every vehicle in the Subaru range proudly carries the
maximum five-star ANCAP* crashworthiness rating for occupant safety. The
ring-shaped passenger cell is made from high-tensile strength steel, which
directs impact energy around the passenger compartment, not through it.
Thanks to Subaru’s electronic driver assist system, called Vehicle Dynamics
Control (VDC), a range of stability and braking technologies step in to
maintain safety in extreme situations. By automatically acting on information
transmitted from a sophisticated array of sensors, the factors influencing the
Subaru WRX STI’s stability are constantly monitored to help the driver stay
