Evergreen Lake House
EPRD operates an 8.5-acre, Zamboni-groomed ice
field with 12+ hockey rinks and a huge public skating
rink, situated amid pine-covered mountains. After
skating, enjoy hot chocolate and snacks from Keys on
the Green Restaurant inside Evergreen Lake House.

Ice Skating & Ice Hockey
Lake Rules & Info
•No alcohol in the park.
•No open fires.
•All persons wearing skates MUST stay on the groomed
ice or in designated areas.
•No smoking in the facility.
•Ice skating is permitted only during open hours.
•No dogs allowed.
•No glass bottles.
•Shoes not allowed on ice.
•Sticks and pucks are not allowed on the main rink.
Warming Hut/Non-Profit Group Rates
During open hours, call 720.880.1300 for info/reservations.
Private Skate Parties
When you book a group of 50 or more, private ice is $8/
person; skate rental and broomball equipment included.
The Lake House and skate rinks are closed to the public
during your event. Concessions are available upon
request. Book your party Mon - Fri from 9 AM - 3 PM.

Learn to Skate Classes
Register online, at the Lake House or either Rec Center.
Always call the Hot Line before you leave for the lake. Do
not drop off children for classes without being SURE that
skating has not been closed because of ice and weather
conditions.
NOTE: Please arrive early to rent skates, and prepare for
skating before the start of class by checking in at the ticket
window and receive a “lesson ticket” to be used for all
lessons. Helmets are strongly advised.
Learn To Skate - Beginner (ages 3-9)
Learn how to stand, walk and fall down properly on skates. The
class progresses to learning how to glide and stop.

Hockey Clinics & Lessons
All Star Winter Skills Hockey Clinic (ages 3-13)
Increase your skating ability while learning how to play
hockey. Classes consist of drills in skating, shooting,
offense, defense and scrimmage. Hockey sticks and helmet
are required and other protective gear is strongly advised.

Advanced All Star Winter Skills Hockey Clinic (ages 3-13)
EPRD is proud to present Coach Deano’s Advanced
Mini Hockey All Star Winter Skills Clinic where students
will learn the importance stick handling, passing, and
shooting as well as innovative techniques to maximize
your power and speed. Spend an intense 5 sessions
mastering your stride, building better balance, and
improving your core coordination. Finish each session
with an inter-squad scrimmage. Helmet is required and
additional safety gear is strongly recommended.

Ellen O’Connor, Recreation Manager of
Evergreen Park & Recreation District (EPRD), has
been selected to be the District’s new Executive
Director. O’Connor prevailed over a field of 85
interested candidates. O’Connor has been
EPRD’s Recreation Manager since Dec 2008.

Prior to coming to EPRD, O’Connor was Children
and Youth Program Supervisor for Foothills Park
and Recreation District, Littleton, CO (19982008), and Camp and Day Programs Services
Administrator for the City of Lakewood Community
Resources Park and Recreation (1988-1998). She
holds a BA in Elementary and Special Education
from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI, and an
MA in Education from Concordia University in St.
Paul, MN. She is a graduate of the National Recreation and Park Association Directors
School and has completed Park and Recreation Board and Executive Director
Training through PInnacle Consulting Group. O’Connor is a graduate of the Leadership
Evergreen program and is on the Board of Directors of the Evergreen Chamber of
Commerce, which named her Ambassador of the Year in 2013.

Throughout the guide DR = District Resident NDR = Non District Resident. Anyone who
pays taxes to and resides within Evergreen Park & Recreation District is considered a DR
and receives discounted rates on classes, activities, programming, facility use and rentals.
Proof is determined by a current Jefferson County tax statement, valid driver’s license, or
mail from a utility company. (Note: Some Evergreen addresses do not pay taxes to EPRD.)
Please be prepared to show your ID for proof of residency with either a bill or tax ID to
receive the in-district rate for drop-ins or if you are new in our system.
How to Register
1. Online: Visit www.evergreenrecreation.com and click on the Register Now link at the
top of the page to enroll in activities and classes, and to purchase or renew facility passes
or punch cards. All online transactions are charged a $2 convenience fee.
2. Walk-In: To register in person, please visit either of our recreation centers:

Buy-In Option to Receive District Rates
Non-District residents may participate in a $400 buy-in option, allowing them to pay District
rates for all programs and admissions for a family for one year. Contact Brian Tucker EPRD
Recreation Manager for more information, 720.880.1212, [email protected].
Withdrawal, Refund, Credit Or Transfer
A $5 charge is assessed for transfers, early withdrawals and credit requests. Patrons must
provide 5 working days notice before the first class to withdraw or transfer. Refunds are
given for medical reasons only (doctor’s note required) after class has started. There is a
$10 check processing fee for refunds.
Class Cancellations
The District staff reserves the right to cancel classes due to weather or other circumstances
beyond our control. District credits will be issued for any program EPRD cancels.

3,200-square-foot weight room and cardio area with the
latest in cardio equipment including;

The area also offers free-weight equipment and
Cybex circuit-training equipment encircling the
climbing pinnacle at the lower level of the rotunda.
EPRD’s cardio/weight areas are available for use by patrons
ages 9 & older. For safety reasons, youth aged 9-15 must be
accompanied by a paid adult (18 & older). Teens aged 13-15
who would like to use the weight/cardio area without adult
supervision may schedule a private/semi private session with
one of our personal trainers.
Certified trainer provide introduction to the cardio and
weight equipment, including proper form and technique for
maximum safety and effectiveness. Sessions are 45 minutes
in length, which may be scheduled with a minimum of 2 or a

Class Descriptions, Schedules and Fees
EPRD’s swim lesson program has three components: (1) Adult classes; (2) Preschool (PS) classes for ages 8 months to
5 years, including Parent-Tot, Beginner 3’s, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced PS; and (3) Level classes for ages 5
1/2 and up, including Levels 1-2, 3, 4-5 and Competitive Stroke Clinic. Each component teaches progressive skills; as
students advance to higher levels, they refine their strokes and build endurance.
Aquatic Parent-Tot (ages 8 months-5 years)
No prerequisite skills required. Basic water adjustment skills taught to
parents who help their child perform the skills. Infants must wear swim

Aquatic Intermediate Preschool (ages 3-5)
Prerequisites include passing Beginner PS skills and being comfortable

deep water. To advance, student must be able to swim 5 yards independently

Lifeguard Training
Aquatic Level 1-2 (ages 5 1/2+)
No prerequisite skills required. Class taught in shallow water; deep-water
skills are introduced when student prepares for advancement. Like the
Intermediate PS, we recommend those completing the skills at Buchanan;
take the Level 1-2 at Wulf to be tested for deep-water safety before

Challenger Sports’ British Soccer has developed

includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical
practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages,
and a daily World Cup tournament.
Denver Archery provides a course that is
designed to offer an environment in which
the archer will learn the very basics of
archery. All equipment will be provided.
Mile High Chess instruction includes: the
chess moves, checkmates and basic
tactics, as well as the chess opening and
middle game theory. Weekly meetings also
include tournament play, game recording

Miss Fit Girls (ages 10-16)
Miss Fit Girls® is a yoga-based program that promotes
time for girls (ages 10-16) to connect, encourage,

Belay Lesson
Learn the techniques necessary to belay safely and have
the opportunity to become a belay certified climber on the
pinnacle. Note: To become certified, must pass a belay
certification exam at least three days after completing
lesson. (No additional fee for exam if you bring in your
original receipt.) $20 DR $25 NDR. Call 720.880.1100 to
schedule an appointment.
Belay Certification Exam (ages 16+)
The certification process offers three chances to
demonstrate proper belay technique. Once completed,
your account will be noted that shows you’re certified to
belay on the pinnacle without an instructor present.

Youth Dance Program
Registration & Payment Policy-The Evergreen Dance Center program starts in
September and runs through the end of May. Classes are continuous but new
students are welcome anytime during the year. YOU MUST FIRST CONTACT THE
EVERGREEN DANCE CENTER by phone AT 303.670.7221 BEFORE ENROLLING ONLINE
or email to get your dancer placed into class. An annual registration fee of $15
is due in September or at the time of registration. All continuing students must
register each year. Monthly tuition must be paid in full on the first of every month.

TRX Suspension Training - The TRX Suspension Training class for all fitness levels is a 50-minute class including a
warm-up and a stretch cool-down. This class is open to both “newbies” and those familiar with suspension training.
Exercise selection and work intervals will be decided by the instructor based on the experience of attendees.
Attendees always have the choice to modify or “intensify” the exercises to better suit their fitness needs.
Pilates on TRX - Take your Pilates to the next level. Challenge and strengthen your core, improve your balance, and

Vinyasa Yoga
This 60-minute class teaches the fundamentals of Vinyasa
Yoga, including sun salutations, standing poses, balancing

StrengthFlow Yoga
This class utilizes elements from Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi to

A Hunter Education Card is required for any Colorado hunter
born on or after Jan 1, 1949. Participants will learn about
Wildlife Conservation & Management, firearm safety, survival
skills and more. Topics include hunting, safety, laws and
ethics, guns, muzzle loading, bow hunting, survival and first
aid, conservation, wildlife management and identification.
Live fire requirement will take place at the Colorado Division
of Wildlife shooting range at 6060 Broadway, Denver, 80216.

Come bounce and pounce through our gymnastics jungle with adventure themes, obstacle courses, circuits and games.
The program is designed to teach age-appropriate motor skills, body awareness and beginning gymnastics. Emphasis is
also placed on peer group interaction, listening skills, enhancing brain development and following directions. It’s all done
with a hop, skip and jump! Classes fill quickly so please register early. All classes are coed and 45 minutes in length.

If your child has never been in gymnastics or has not
participated in our program, please read the class
descriptions or call for an evaluation. Correct placement of
your child will contribute to their successful progression.
Class Registration

your child on a waiting list; you will be notified when your
child has been placed into a class. To arrange additional
classes for schools or day care groups, call the gymnastics

Gymnastics Team Program
USAG Acro-Gymnastics Program
Come stunt, base, flip and fly with us! Acro-gymnastics is an
exciting and fun way to learn basic motor development and
coordination and can provide athletes with an opportunity to
perform and compete. Gymnasts work in pairs or small groups
to perform a mix of gymnastics skills, dance and synchronization,
creating a fun team-building atmosphere. Gymnasts will learn
routines that include stunts and tumbling elements set to music.
This program provides new opportunities, fun and physical
activity for kids ages 6 and up!
Pre-Team 55 minutes
Teaches partner and group routines and works to prepare
gymnasts to join a competition team. This class is
recommended in addition to another recreational gymnastics
class for those interested in competition. This team includes
beginner, intermediate and advanced recreational levels.
Tumbling 55 minutes
The perfect addition to our Acro-specific classes, this class
builds acrobatic tumbling skills, strength and flexibility to help
improve tumbling and flipping skills. Also a great addition to

Got what it takes to join our Gymnastics team? We
compete in the nationally based USA Gymnastics league;
participation on team is by invitation only. Team workout
schedules vary for each group. Gymnasts and parents will
receive a workout schedule from their coaches.
Girls USAG Team Program
Developmental/Pre-Team gymnasts are invited to join
our successful USAG competitive program. Gymnasts
must commit to practice a minimum of 7 hours per week.
USAG offers opportunities for competition at levels 3-10.
The competition season for levels 3-5 is in the fall. Levels
6-10 Jan - May, Xcel competition is in the early spring.
Developmental Team
By invitation only - This is for girls 6 to 8 years old
showing passion and natural talent in gymnastics.
Coaching staff will select gymnasts, and parents will
be notified if their child has the opportunity to join

Mary Pulick has been teaching Tai Chi Chuan in
Evergreen for 40 years, and has studied with many
Chinese masters. She is also a licensed
acupuncturist who interned in China. Mary
founded Tai Chi Chuan of Evergreen.
Jan Schatvet began his Tai Chi Studies in 1983. He
learned The National Peoples Republic Short Yang
form followed by The Chen Pan Ling Form. In 1988 he
learned The Cheng Man Ch’ing Short Yang Form, which
is the form he is teaching.

for individuals with special needs, ages 5 and up, five days
a week. Our emphasis is on socialization activities: crafts,
