I am excited to write to you and share what the Lord has been doing in my life. Since graduating from
Air Academy High School in Colorado Springs, CO in May 2010, I have been seeking what my next
steps in life would be. Initially I had planned on enrolling at the Art Institute of Denver to pursue a
degree in Photo Journalism; but, through much prayer and consideration I decided to explore the
possibility of joining YWAM (Youth With A Mission), and travel abroad to study and serve people while
also using my gifts as a photographer. I still plan to attend college and get a degree in photography at a
later time.
I am thrilled to report that I have been accepted into the YWAM Brisbane, Australia MAD DTS (Music
Art and Dance Discipleship Training School), with an emphasis in photography. The school will run from
October 2010 thru April or May of 2011. It is very exciting and a little scary to see what God has in
store for me; I am so happy to be able to work with people and make myself available to serve however
I am needed, while expanding my knowledge in photography.
What is YWAM?
Youth With A Mission draws people from a wide variety of backgrounds to work in a vast spectrum of
evangelistic activities.Young people, families, retired persons, recent high-school graduates and PhDs are
among their ranks. Each year more than 32,000 people are involved in short-term work while over
10,000 work as permanent staff in 630 operating locations in 140 nations. There are three main ways
that YWAM is involved in the goal of taking the Gospel to all the world:
* Evangelism: Spreading God's message.
* Training: Preparing workers to reach others.
* Mercy Ministries: Showing God's love through practical assistance.
I am very excited to join with and become a part of this ministry.

Brisbane is the capital and most populous city in the
Australian state of Queensland and the third most
populous city in Australia. Brisbane's metropolitan area
has an approximate population of 2 million. A resident
of Brisbane is commonly known as a "Brisbanite". Soon
I will be one too! Who knows, I might even pick up an
Australian accent!
Why am I going here?
I chose YWAM Brisbane because I loved the idea of participating in a mission trip in a different
country, and experiencing and working in a different culture.
The fact that this specific DTS emphasizes photography makes it a perfect match for me. I have
found an option that will allow me to learn more about Jesus, teach me more about the Bible,
live in and experience a different culture, learn more about photography, and serve others while I
learn.

I ask that you would commit to pray for me and my classmates daily as we venture into this new
phase of our lives. I also ask if you would prayerfully consider supporting me financially.
I need to raise an approximate total of $11,000.00 US in order to cover my roundtrip airfare, tuition,
room and board, outreach, and miscellaneous living expenses such as toiletries and transportation. I
have itemized the expenses for you below so you can pray and seek the Lord with me for this
provision.
Costs
$3000 - Round trip airfare - Due ASAP
$500 - Student Visa - Due ASAP
$3600 - Tuition - Due September 25th
$1700 - Extended Outreach Deposit - Due November 15th
$1700 - Extended Outreach Balance - Due January 8th
$500 - Miscellaneous living expenses/toiletries
