V2 HISTORY
V2 was established as a specialist
rock trenching contractor. V2T
commenced operations in the
Middle East during 2002 with a
water transmission project in Qatar.
Two years later in 2004, the
company launched its operations in
the Sultanate of Oman by carrying
out the trench excavation works for
the 48” PDO gas pipeline project
running between Saih Nihayda and
Al-Kamil power station.
V2T head office is based in Oman
and the company has branches in
Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Currently, the company owns and

EXPERTISE IN SUPPORT
V2T has a team of highly trained mechanics
capable of servicing, monitoring and
repairing the trenchers in remote field
locations, including major mechanical
overhauls such as full engine rebuilds.
V2T’s custom made service trucks include
hydraulic cranes, welding machines and a
full complement of service tools.

the necessary tools to perform any required in
field maintenance and repair work.
The field operations are also supported by
V2T’s own diesel tankers and prime movers
for refuelling and transportation.
Efficient service and support is critical to
meeting all contractual obligations and
delivering projects for clients on time, every
time.
“..... our goal is to do it
safely, do it quickly and
do it right the first
time...”
Safety is an ever present part of our
operations. We have worked hard to
implement safety measures that not only
meet legal and HSE requirements but also
provide us with an active safety culture. To
work effectively, you not only need the
proper equipment, but proper training to
ensure that the equipment is being fully
utilised and operated safely. Our training
programs cover everything from
maintenance to operation of all our
equipment.
Our goal is to do it safely, do it quickly and
do it right the first time. We believe our
safety and training programs allow us to
achieve this goal and provide superior value
to our customers in productivity, efficiency
with minimised risk.
LOW BED TRAILER (Qty – 1)
Mercedes Benz Prime Mover MPII and Swivel
Axle Low Bed Semi Trailer with Dolly mover of
140 ton capacity. It is equipped with front
loading hydraulic facilities.
ADVANTAGES OF TRENCHING
More recently in the Middle East region, trenching has become the favoured
method in many situations as it offers several clear advantages:

The excavated material can often be used for backfill

Efficiency and speed; the time required for executing jobs is shorter
than any other alternative

A much smaller and neater path is cut through the terrain; the regular
shape of the trenches it produces offers physically conducive
environment for other activities in pipeline construction

Increased safety when working close to infrastructure such as existing
pipelines and urban areas (less risk of liability)

The process is less labour intensive

Low environmental impact & less overall ground disturbance
“…. there are
significant cost
savings as well as a
considerable
reduction in potential
HSE issues …..”
THE
ADVANTAGES
“…. Rock trenching allows for a clean trench which
reduces the time required by a general contractor to
place product by eliminating clean up. It provides the
necessary versatility when working in close proximity to
most utilities and roadways. …..”
USE OF SPOIL FOR
BACKFILLING
Excavated material is automatically
processed and ready to use as backfill,
saving on material costs and
transportation costs.
PADDING
Up to 50% less padding is required as a result of
precision cut trenches.
ALTERNATIVE METHODS
TRENCHING vs BLASTING
The alternates to trenching are blasting
rock and using excavators. In contrast to
these methods, trenching results in a
cleaner work area and reduces the time
required by a general contractor to place
pipelines. It also eliminates clean up
and reduces the dangers associated
with the use of explosives. Trenching
also produces quality crushed rock
material that often meets specifications
of back-fill soil for the pipeline. The
versatility of rock trenching allows for
fast and deep trenching.
For a long time the practice of laying pipelines
in hard rock involved blasting a ditch using
explosives and then excavating the rubble.
Blasting and hammering are slow,
unpredictable, dangerous and ultimately
expensive. Blasting increases the risk of liability
and poses a higher safety risk. In developed
countries the use of explosives is restrained by
law.
TRENCHING vs EXCAVATING
Trenching with mechanical trenchers
has evolved through improvements in
quality and efficiency of excavation
operations. It results in better
economics, as the productivity of
trenchers is ten times that of
excavators. It is much faster than
excavation, a lot safer and requires
approximately 60% less manpower, and
reduces service and fuel costs.
“Trenching is quicker,
cleaner & more efficient,
but the savings realised
by trenching don’t stop
there. If you are laying
fiber optic lines or cables,
digging narrow trenches
with clean vertical walls
can dramatically reduce
your project costs. The
back fill material comes
from the trencher
therefore eliminating the
transportation of removing
the spoil and bringing in
back fill. This adds up to
big savings!!...”
