Second Sabbath Bulletin - South Central Conference
From The President Greetings and welcome to Camp Meeting 2015! On behalf of our Executive Secretary, Elder Auldwin Humphrey, our Treasurer, Mrs. Merkita Mosley, and the workers of this special and historic conference, Mrs. Edmond and I wish to welcome you to Camp Meeting! Of all the things that we do in the South Central Conference, at the very top of the things that I enjoy is Camp Meeting. It is wonderful to re-connect with brothers and sisters of “like precious faith”−some of whom, I have not seen since last Camp Meeting. I am always richly blessed by the Holy Spirit-inspired preaching and music and grateful for the insightful workshops and seminars. Camp Meeting in the South Central Conference is a special and blessed experience. Our theme this year is “Come, Holy Spirit.” The servant of the Lord says that the gift of the Holy Spirit is the gift that “brings all other blessings in Its train.” As we spend these ten days studying the Holy Spirit, may we experience that gift during this Camp Meeting in a way that we have never experienced the gift of the Holy Spirit. May He revive and energize us to do the work that the Lord has called us to do. One day, soon and very soon, our camp meetings will not be on the campus of Oakwood University, but on the sea of glass. In addition to the rich blessings of Camp Meeting 2015, please begin planning for Camp Meeting 2016 which, if time should last, will be June 10-18, 2016. We shall culminate the 70th anniversary celebration of the South Central Conference that camp meeting with the theme “At the Cross.” In the interim, thank-you so very much for all your prayers and kindness to Mrs. Edmond during these past several months while addressing a major health challenge. We are thankful for her full recovery. We are also thankful for the safe delivery of our new grandson Anthony Jaden Campbell, who was born May 1st. Please do not allow a single day to pass without praying for Mrs. Edmond and me. Blessings on You and Yours, Elder D.C. Edmond, President South Central Conference THEME SONG Sweet Sweet Spirit Doris Akers (1962) © Copryight 1962. Renewed 1990 by Manna Music, Inc. (ASCAP) There’s a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place, And I know that it’s the Spirit of the Lord; There are sweet expressions on each face, And I know they feel the presence of the Lord. Chorus Sweet Holy Spirit, Sweet heavenly Dove, Stay right here with us, filling us with your love. And for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise; Without a doubt we’ll know that we have been revived, When we shall leave this place. There are blessings you cannot receive Till you know Him in His fullness and believe; You’re the one to profit when you say, I am going to walk with Jesus all the way.” Chorus If you say He saved you from your sin, Now you’re weak, you’re bound and cannot enter in, You can make it right if you will yield, You’ll enjoy the Holy Spirit that we feel.
