Heaven’s Gates Open for Ardent Earth’s Angel
LEETTA P. WILLIAMS
LEETTA WILLIAMS was an inspiration and
a prayer to everyone blessed by knowing her.
SHE WAS a smile of understanding and a
laugh of appreciation that permeated your being
and inspired your ideals.
LEETTA was independence of stature and
the desire to stand tall in the presence of humanity.
SHE WAS devotion to her friends, her family,
her organizations, and her faith throughout
her life and its living.
THIS REMARKABLE LADY was overcoming
obstacles and illness to lead, follow, or stand
beside others in a commitment to accomplishment.
SHE WAS TRAVELER AND COMPANION
locally, state, nation, and worldwide with those
who shared her interests and valued her companionship.
Star Advocate Shines in ADRC’s Eyes
Shirley Sumner (left) addresses the audience at the 27th
Annual Installation Dinner. Pictured with Executive
Director Edith Lederberg, Ms. Sumner recently has
committed to donating $80,000 to sponsor the Board and
Training Rooms at the ADRC’s new Sunrise facility.
THIS EARTH’S ANGEL was benevolent,
honorable, and gracious to those unable
to experience independence from
trials and errors in their endeavors.
SHE WAS THE LIGHT OF HOPE
guiding others through the tunnel of despair
into the garden of fruition.
ABOVE ALL, LEETTA P. WILLIAMS
was - is - and always will be far more than
a memory of moments of togetherness,
the touch of a caring hand and the sense of a
mental image that pictures her photo in tandem
with time. She lives on as a woman of valor
within our hearts now and forevermore.

Presidential Perspective:
Home is a Haven of Hope for Humanity
P
urchasing a new home is an
experience we treasure in our
minds and hearts forever. Watching
the structure rise from the first
shovelful of dirt, to emerge as
a stately work of art, has been a
constant process in progress that
magnetized our eyes and our energies
to a single location that represents
the portal of accomplishment for our Board and Staff.
In addition, the edifice represents a tribute to our vital
network of community supporters, who believe in our
nonprofit organization, and now share our pride and joy
in the building that stands tall and beautiful at 5300 Hiatus
Road, in Sunrise.
We officially moved on March 29th and 30th! An infinite
caravan of cars and trucks carried almost 26 years of
stored records and memories from our prior location in
Fort Lauderdale to the specially designed “one-stop
shopping” entity for elders, caregivers, and others seeking
information, referral, and “hands-on” assistance pertinent
to aging programs and services. The new location, easily
accessible by private or public transportation, is an answer
to the prayers of needy elders, as well as a source of training
and computerized data for professionals and others seeking
accurate and timely data.

Board Rewards Building
Co-Chair with Volunteer Award
Many talented hands and caring hearts partnered to effect
our long time dreams into a brilliant reality! Now, as we
view the magnificence of the Aging and Disability Resource
Center of Broward County, we sense the presence of the
pioneers on the Areawide Council, like Vickie Coceano
and Leetta Williams, who were with the Board for the
initial planning, and will be present at the ribbon-cutting
in spirit, to applaud their associates for a job well done.
Being President of the Areawide Council on Aging
is a title I wear with pride. There is no greater honor
than that, earned through diligence, and rewarded
by knowing you are a leader of a Family of Men
and Women who are celebrating a victory in time,
as a Team – Together.
