FORTUNATELY FOR THE MUSIC INDUSTRY HIS LIFE’S AMBITION TOOK A NEW TURN
WHEN HE WAS REQUESTED BY THE MONTREUX TOURIST OFFICE TO HELP OUT IN
THE CREATION OF A NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL.
CLAUDE COULD NOT HELP BUT BLENDING HIS PASSION FOR GOOD FOOD AND
MUSIC. BEFORE LONG MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL BECAME FAMOUS NOT ONLY FOR
ITS AMAZING MUSIC, BUT ALSO FOR IT’S BESPOKE FOOD COMBINATIONS, TOO.
MUSIC IS UNIVERSAL, IT HAS NO BORDERS AND SPEAKS EVERY LANGUAGE. BUT ONLY
WHEN IT ABANDONS THE EXPECTED, WHEN IT REJECTS THE RULES, DO THE MOST
AMAZING THINGS HAPPEN. WHEN FREE PERFORMANCE SHAKES YOUR EMOTIONS
AND CREATES SOMETHING NEVER HEARD BEFORE. SOME CALL IT IMPROVISATION.
WE CALL IT PLAYING OFF THE BEATEN TRACK.
IN 1992 CLAUDE NOBS AND PETER G. REBEIZ, PRESIDENT OF THE COMPANY
CAVIAR HOUSE & PRUNIER, PLAYED WITH THE IDEA OF CREATING A CAFE WHICH
WOULD EMBODY THE UNIQUE FOOD AND MUSIC SPIRIT OF THE FESTIVAL. THE
FIRST MONTREUX JAZZ CAFE WAS INTRODUCED IN SWITZERLAND IN 2007, AND
CONTINUES TO OPEN IN UNIQUE LOCATIONS AROUND THE WORLD.
THIS AUTHENTIC PASSION FOR ALL THINGS NEW AND EXCITING IS WHAT CONNECTS
