Case study of an actual company that uses PermaGreens on 98.6% of their 1,000 Sq. ft. to 16 acre properties > 10 Acres: 0.1% 5.1-10 Acres: 0.6% Can't Ride: 1.4% 1. PermaGreens spread & spray 92% of proper es without refilling 2.1-5 Acres: 2.1% 1-2 Acres: 3.6% 20-44,000 ft²: 11.2% Important Stats: 1-4,000 ft²: 20.3% 2. Another 4% can be done with 1 refill 3. 68% of all proper es are less than 10,000 sq. . 10-19,000 ft²: 12.8% 4. Only 2.7% of proper es require mul ple refills 5. Only 1.4% of all the lawns can’t be ridden using a machine 5-9,000 , ft²: 48.0% Look Closely: The case study proves that PermaGreens deliver produc vity and prac cality across the widest range of property sizes, making the Triumph the perfect f t all-around ll d spreader d sprayer to t build b ild your business b i and d your dreams d upon. Choose wisely: Before you bet $10,000 on the myth that a bigger and faster machine is going to make you more money, ask yourself these ques ons: Does my customer base resemble this case study? Is a bigger and faster machine really prac cal on a majority of my lawns? This is a full- me business, so can I afford to drop $10,000 on a piece of part- me equipment? CHOOSE WISELY: PermaGreens are the perfect all-around spreader sprayer to build yoUR business and your dreams upon pon Bigger machines Spread & Spray wider than a Triumph Overall Spray Width Measured from the left-most droplet to right-most droplet Measured from the left-most pellet to right-most pellet • Triumph: up to 13 feet wide • 4 Nozzle Boom Sprayer: 9.5 feet • 5 Nozzle Boom Sprayer: 11 feet • Triumph: up to 20 feet wide • Largest advertised width: 25 Feet More important than the overall spray width is the effective spray width, which is the on-center distance between the parallel passes for proper and effective overlap of the liquid product. Even if it were possible to spread 100 feet wide, the on-center distance between passes must be adjusted to match the effective spray width, so that both patterns overlap properly. Actual on-center distance between parallel passes: Actual on-center distance between parallel passes for proper overlap of both products is: • Triumph - up to 8 feet • 4 nozzle boom systems - 6’ 8” • 5 nozzle boom systems - 8’ 4” MYTH BUSTED: TRIUMPHS SPREAD & SPRAY ABOUT AS WIDE OR WIDER THAN MANY BIGGER MACHINES Overall Spread Width • Triumph - up to 8 feet • 4 nozzle boom systems - 6’ 8” • 5 nozzle boom systems - 8’ 4” MYTH: You’ll make more money using a “bigger, faster” spreader SPRAYER In one day, one technician and one PermaGreen™ can spread and spray a 9-Acre school campus in the morning and 20 addi onal 1,500 to 5,000 2 residen al lawns in the a ernoon! Total Production: 455,000 ft2 This is how you make more money the PermaGreen way: • 1 machine • All lawns • Every day D E T S U B Make More Money When You Use A PermaGreen On Every Lawn P ermaGreen Supreme, Inc. was founded in 1980 as a lawn care company, making its way by pulling hoses on lawns. It was not long before the founder, Tom Jessen, developed innova ve turf applica on technologies such as Low Volume spraying (1 Gallon/1,000 ²), the first commercially-available Injec on Gun System, and the first Ride-On Spreader Sprayer, which vastly increased produc on numbers and reduced operator fa gue. A er 6 patents and over 15,000 spreader sprayers, the concept has remained the same: a powerful mechanized rider, fast enough that technicians have reported trea ng 1,000,000 ² per day, yet small enough to fit through 36” gates and treat ny lawns. The PermaGreen™ philosophy is, “One machine that you’ll use every day on almost every lawn.” It virtually eliminates walking and pushing, generates huge profits through increased produc on and improves employees’ working condi ons. The Triumph is BEST at controlling the variables that cause misapplica on of turf products. Patented synchronized spread and spray features eliminate guesswork and mistakes. Misapplica on of turf products costs you money. Under-applica on may cause poor performance, a service call, or worse….a lost customer. Overapplica on wastes product. Either way, you lose money. To reduce the chance of misapplica on, three of the main variables that can cause misapplica on are controlled by the Triumph’s factory-set engine speed. Ground speed The Triumph’s ground-speed is factory-set to 5 MPH in high gear and 3.5 MPH in low gear. Spread width The spread width is also factory-set, so the Triumph’s spread pa ern is always the same in both high speed and low speed. Spray width The spray pressure is automa cally controlled (and not adjustable), which prevents tampering with the spray output or width. With a flip of a valve, the operator instantly synchronizes spray to the selected ground speed. To spray, the Triumph uses 1 broadcast (A) and 1 trim nozzle (B) each sized to apply the right amount of product for the factory-set high-gear ground speed, and smaller sized nozzles (C & D) for the low gear ground speed. The operator uses the front 3-way valve (E) to select which high gear nozzle sprays and uses the rear 3-way valve (F) to select which low gear nozzle sprays. Select a gear and select the correct nozzle. It’s that simple, easy and quick to recalibrate. When you want to spray, just pull a trigger lever located on the le hand grip. Spray as long as you like and then release the lever to stop spraying or lock the spray lever on. The operator’s hands stay on the handlebars while you drive. Because of the ease of triggering the spray on and off, the Triumph is ideal for target applying pes cides in an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. IPM reduces the cost per thousand, saving you money. In fact, IPM can drama cally cut your chemical bills and deliver great results! And the Triumph makes it easy. For example, when you see broadleaf weeds ahead, pull the trigger on them. Pu ng down only what the lawn needs where it needs makes good agronomic and economic sense. Spot spray or blanket spray, broadcast or trim, in high gear or low, the Triumph puts down products correctly every me! Overlap All you have to do is make passes on 7 to 8-Foot centers. When you drop the edge of fer lizer pa ern between the last wheel marks, the spray pa ern overlaps properly, so no weeds are missed (see illustra on). This speed provides extra me to trim around complicated landscaping, as well as, be er trac on and control on hills. Ergonomic handlebars, steering and controls • Low vibra on motor mounts, hand grips and foot pads • Shock-absorbing, fully-ar culated front and rear halves and cushy res Patented SmartSteering Patented ARTICULATED STEERING Improved for 2015: SmartSteering is naturally intui ve steering that reduces fa gue. The most amazing thing about SmartSteering is that there are no extra levers to pull, and you can’t make a mistake. Since your first tricycle, you’ve been learning to steer a Triumph. Just hold onto the handlebars and turn. SmartSteering is simultaneously braking the wheel on the inside of the turn to assist you into and out of the turn (the image below is depic ng the SmartSteer causing the machine to make a right turn). With SmartSteering, both hands stay firmly on the handlebars for support, so both you and the Triumph are under control. Articulated A patented ar cula ng joint mechanism connects the front half of the Triumph (with motor, drive-train, hopper, etc.) to the rear sulky upon which you stand. This allows the machine to bend le and right and/ or twist up and down in the middle, which provides ght turning, stability and shock absorp on on rough ground. Tactical Handbook Get the most from your PermaGreen FREE online at permagreen.com The Tac cal Handbook contains insigh ul ps on opera ng a lawn care service in today’s market. This informa on will help you to maximize profits and improve your ability to effec vely compete using the Triumph Spreader Sprayer. The Tac cs were created by the PermaGreen™ Consul ng Team, which has over 100 years of on-the-job lawn care service ownership, management and applica on experience. OUR GOAL IS TO HELP YOU SAVE AND MAKE MORE MONEY. PermaGreen™ Tac cs can help you to: Tight, Just Right Turning When measured from inside re to inside re, Triumph turns on a 27-Inch radius that brings you right to your next pass. Triumph steering is not too wide, not too ght, it’s just right for gracefully working around complex landscaped proper es of every size, without slowing down, with less chance of scuffing the turf. Compared to steering wheels and zero-turns, SmartSteering has the shortest learning curve. SmartSteering works automa cally without any awareness or conscious effort on your part and automa cally adjusts the amount of braking assistance to your input. This is important and no ceable while opera ng the Triumph on hills. Stability Both front and rear res conform perfectly to the arc of every turn bringing the rider closer to the pivot point and reducing centrifugal forces. Also, the rider can lean into the turn for be er balance. Shock Absorption The front and rear halves independently conform to the ground. As the front hits a bump or a rut, the main shock is absorbed by the front half of the Triumph and not the operator. Maximize Produc vity to increase cash flow and profits. Minimize Labor Costs while hiring and retaining the best employees. Control Product Costs while providing excep onal quality results. Retain and Gain Customers through the use of focus marke ng. Control Overhead using the right equipment and vehicles. And much more! The Very Best Business Support Drop-down Handle Convenient Ergonomic Controls Want to talk about opera ng a lawn care business? So do we. Just call for a FREE consulta on with our PermaGreen™ Consul ng Team, which includes a 26year owner/operator, who was a regional opera ons manager for a major lawn care franchise network. Another PermaGreen™ patented exclusive feature. The Triumph has quick-release, drop-down handlebars that make it easier, safer, and more convenient to operate. The handle and all of the controls lower to allow the machine to be used as a walk-behind unit for safety and control on difficult terrain or when loading/ unloading from a vehicle. For comfort, the handlebars are angled back and down to maintain your natural hand/wrist alignment. For convenience and safety, the most frequently used controls are literally at your finger ps. They can be operated without le ng go of the handlebars. The Smartest Tech Support Controls operated with your hands on the Handlebars: Ques ons about calibra on? The Triumph has exactly the right amount of maneuverability to make the turns and navigate easily and quickly around landscaped areas. Zero-turn is not needed when making 7 to 8-Foot on-center passes. The Triumph has front wheel drive and brake-assisted steering, giving the Triumph superior hill-riding characteris cs. In addi on, the learning and training process is easier on a Triumph and requires less hand and finger movement. Why doesn’t the Triumph have larger spray tanks? Triumphs sprays about 1-Acre per fill, which matches the hopper capacity and avoids transpor ng extra weight. Why isn’t there a transport gear? A transport gear may sound like a good idea, but the operator will invariably use the transport gear for produc on. Opera ng at excessive speed on difficult terrain is hazardous. Also, once you lose control of ground speed, the amount of product that should be applied for a proper applica on becomes guesswork, which compromises work quality. Why doesn’t the Triumph have a hose/wand? For spot spraying, the Triumph comes equipped with a HandyCan sprayer and a Squeeze & Spray handheld applicator, which ride along with the machine on special brackets. Both are far more useful than a hose and wand, because the technician can walk any distance away from the unit and spot spray up to 4,000 2 (500 2 for Squeeze & Spray) with virtually no dri . Refill is easy, direct from the Triumph’s drain valve. There is a place to mount a second Squeeze & Spray if more capacity or a second product is needed. Why does the Triumph use a gear-shi trans-axle as opposed to a hydrosta c transmission? Consistent ground speed is cri cal to accurate applica on of turf products, and gears provides a more precise ground speed. The Triumph is factoryset to operate at 2 very specific ground speeds, and the spray is pre-calibrated to either High or Low gear, so you don’t have to guess how fast you are going. Instead of a hydro, the Triumph uses a Honda™ engine and centrifugal clutch, which behave like an automa c transmission in a car. Just put it into a gear (Low or High) and give it gas. Why doesn’t the Triumph have a larger gas tank? The Triumph uses a fuel efficient 200 CC Honda™ engine and can run 4 hours on a single Gallon of gas. Hydro machines have larger tanks because they use more gas, which results in higher opera ng costs throughout the year. Why can’t I carry 2 separate products, 1 in each tank? The Triumph avoids risk of cross-contamina on by connec ng the dual tanks and pulling evenly from both. The purpose of the dual tanks is be er weight distribu on and stability. Why no spray boom? If all you were trea ng were football fields, a boom may be useful. But, there are obstacles and obstruc ons (trees, shrubs, fencing, etc.) on most proper es that will catch a boom, causing possible damage and slowing down the applica on. Why doesn’t PermaGreen manufacture an expanded product line (different machines for different-sized proper es)? Simple. Our philosophy is “One Machine, All Proper es, Everyday”. The Triumph is the ONE and ONLY machine you need. Your spreader sprayer should adjust to your routes…not the other way around. Why aren’t the spray and spread widths the same? They don’t need to be. When making 7 to 8-Foot passes, both pa erns overlap properly and nothing is missed. (See the diagram on page 6.) Questions to Consider Before Buying A DIFFERENT BRAND’s Machine If I have to frequently let go of the machine with one hand to operate commonly used controls, how safe is it? If I have variables, such as ground speed, spreader swath, and spray pressure, how will I ever know that the products are being applied correctly? I’m going to be holding onto a machine for hours everyday. Are the handles truly ergonomically designed? If for any reason I don’t like the machine I’m buying, will I get my money back? How long is the guarantee? If the machine needs warranty or service, is there a repair center nearby, or do I have to do everything myself? If the machine I buy has an engine that is 2 or 3 mes larger than on the Triumph, how much more will I pay for gas over the course of a season? Will I need a trailer or can I use a carrying rack to transport my machine? Does the machine use any electrically-operated components that can be damaged by the fer lizer? How difficult is it to learn to drive and operate the machine? If my new machine develops an internal engine problem, will I have to wait for repair work to be done or will a replacement engine be sent? If I have turf product or business-related ques ons, has the manufacturer ever operated a lawn service?
