Master Ryuho Okawa, founder of Happy
Science Group, has devoted his life to the
exploration of Truth and finding ways to
bring happiness to people all over the world.
He was born 7 July, 1956, in Tokushima,
Japan. After graduating from the University
of Tokyo, he joined a Tokyo-based trading
house. While working at its New York
headquarters, he studied finance at the
Graduate Centre of the City University of
New York. In 1986, he renounced his
business career to establish Happy Science
which now have 12 million members in 80
countries.
His teachings incorporate all truths discovered by enlightened humans that have become shining
beacons of light throughout human history and create new guiding principles necessary for
contemporary society to live in peace, harmony and prosperity.

Since then, he has been giving lectures and designing spiritual workshops for people from all walks of
life. He has given over 1,500 public lectures and numerous seminars. His speeches have been attended
by audiences of up to 50,000, and are enlightening and easy to understand.

Prolific Author
Master Okawa has authored more than 700 books, which are written in a simple style, that include a
broad variety of subjects such as the spirit world, self-help, philosophy, science, world affairs, business,
healing, and ways to be happier in life, most of which are best-sellers. Some have been translated into
English, like the trilogy that contains the core-teachings of Happy Science: The Laws of the Sun, The
Laws of Eternity and The Golden Laws.
In 2010, he published 52 books and set the Guinness World Records for “most books written in one
year by an individual”. In Japan, Ryuho Okawa’s new books published every year hit the best-selling
list for 20 consecutive years. His books have been translated into 18 languages.
The Laws of The Sun, now available in Chinese, is his foundational work. It
teaches the way to realize true happiness - a happiness that continues from
this world through to the next.
Its teaching addresses many vital issues including how our thoughts influence
reality and the different stages of spiritual and human love. The Laws of The
Sun has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and has been translated
into 7 languages.

World Spiritual and Religious Leader
Born in Japan in 1956, Master Ryuho Okawa is a spiritual and religious leader. He attained Great
Enlightenment in 1981 and in 1986 has devoted himself to spreading the Truth. He founded Happy
Science Group, a worldwide movement promoting happiness of all humanity.
He has since given more than 1500 public seminars worldwide, including in Japan, the US, India and
Brazil, about the attainment of genuine happiness that contributes to creating an ideal world – a world
of harmony, love and prosperity.
Master Okawa is also the national teacher of Japan, and has given guidance in all major areas of life –
politics, education, working life – to encourage decisions that are in accordance with goodness, wisdom
and The Truth.
Master Okawa also guided Happy Science to actively engage in social contribution and community work
in various countries by providing material aid and support to people who are suffering as a result of
poverty, natural disasters or illnesses of the mind.
In addition to books, Master Okawa has produced six films based on his best selling books including
“The Laws of Eternity” which is a big hit in Japan and very popular on the Internet.
In 2010, he established the Happy Science Academy in Japan, which now consists of a Junior High
School and a Senior High School. A university is planned for the near future.
Recently, he has been travelling worldwide to give lectures, with a passion to bring more happiness to
people all over the world and many in Singapore are eagerly awaiting for his visit here.
Today, there are 10,000 Happy Science affiliated centres in 27 countries.
