We were again delighted to visit
Milan this April which every year
is the epicentre of design.
Alive with expectation and
excitement, the 55th Salone
attracted a record number
of visitors. We hope you will be
inspired by our preview on what’s
trending with our brands in 2016
including Minotti, Knoll, Porada
and more...
A personal favourite of director Lillie Bull,
Minotti once again didn’t disappoint and was
a talking point of the show. With an extensive
5 million Euro purpose built stand, there was
plenty to see & even more to talk about.
From the clean & tailored lines of the Freeman
sofa, to the sumptuous liquid look of the new
Bardiglio Nuvolato marble, it was all about
earthy tones and new textures within this
Art Deco inspired 2016 collection.

1. FREEMAN SOFA
Showcasing Minotti’s sophisticated fine
tailoring skills, the Freeman seating system
consists of a single seating cushion with
detailed deep stitching, optional wingback
arms & countless configurations.

2. JACOB COFFEE TABLE
Elegant & distinctly geometric, the Jacob offers a
practical yet striking solution for any coffee table
requirement. With rectangular, triangular & circular
options available, it is best showcased with the new
Bardiglio Nuvolato marble top.

3. WINSTON ARMCHAIR
Showcasing Minotti’s finer
craftsmanship, the Winston represents
a combination of yesteryear style &
modern technology with a stand alone
lounge chair sure to be a classic in
years to come.
4. CREED FAMILY
With bold design elements, the Creed family
offers a modern twist to traditional Art Deco
pieces. With an extensive array of seating
(and even bedding) options available, there
is scope for use in residential, commercial &
hospitality settings.

Constructed around an elegant loadbearing structure, a steel beam acts as
a spine for seats, backs and tables that
can generate benches, sofas, a chaise
longue and tabletops in a practically
infinite sequences.

2. KRUSIN CHAIR
Quality craftsmanship, simple, precise
lines and refined proportions define the
new seating system designed by Marc
Krusin. This harmonious family of chairs
offer remarkable padded softness in
modern, minimal silhouettes.

3. BERTOIA HIDE CHAIR
Part of the Bertoia re-invention, an all
leather option is now available in limited colours (with a long awaited bronze
frame option too!)
4. PLATNER GOLD SERIES
To help celebrate 50 years of
“decorative, gentle and graceful”
shapes, Knoll has released the Platner
collection in 18 karat gold.
Breaking away from its more conservative heritage,
Knoll has mixed the old with the new rather
seamlessly with the release of re-invented classics
& some brand new designs altogether.
With applications for both residential & commercial
projects, these could prove to be the ‘go to’ pieces
in coming years.

Porada hasn’t disappointed with the new
releases who bring out Art Deco memory to

solid Canaletta Walnut and Calacatta
marble, add to the elegance of this
exquisite piece.

Perfect complement this new addition

top finishes which vary between wood,
marble or frosted glass.

emanates cosiness and character which will

Warm and natural tones, bamboo canes,
leafy plants and towering palm trees, were
recreated in the stand of RODA a typically
Mediterranean outdoor area. From emerald
to turquoise, colour was evident but matched
the sober and sophisticated taste of RODA.
Impossible not to notice, the new LOOM
carpets, hung like tapestries throughout the
RODA stand. Handmade on loom and available
in various colours and types of patterns, the
LOOM carpets furnish the living corners
bringing another “piece of home” outside.
1. RODA - NEW OUTDOOR
CARPETS COLLECTION
With an extremely consistent approach, RODA
takes out of doors one of the elements most
likely to accentuate an intimately cosy domestic
atmosphere: the rug. The collection is developed
around two patterns inspired by jacquard weaves;
the ATLAS carpets, in plain colour, are available
in four finishes: clay, pearl, lead and water; the
BABYLON carpets mix colours in three elegant
geometrical patterns.

Double is an articulated and ‘total
outdoor ‘ seating system designed
to recreate on the outside the
sensation of relaxing and the exclusive
atmosphere of an indoor living space.

Part of the Double family, the dining
chairs are extremely versatile, suitable for
both contract a more intimate setting.
4. RODA - TEKA
The entire TEKA collection is developed
around a particular prism-shaped
geometric construction of great impact
which, at the same time, confers a
sensation of lightness to the pieces while
retaining the intrinsic durability of wood.
2. CRASSEVIG – MAKI
Built on the dedication and know-how of an
Italian company, which is celebrating 40 years,
La Cividina has impressed with the new eclectic
releases. The sensitivity to the new technology
and craft traditions resulted in a more extensive,
comprehensive and more personal collection.
Born from the meeting between the
Italian company and the Japanese
studio Drill Design, Maki is a system of
benches characterized by décor inspired
by round holes, arranged in regular
rows, making them light and dynamic .

4. CRASSEVIG – AURA
A welcoming harmony within the Aura
family is now present with the different
variations. Simple lines translate into
comfort and practicality.
1. LA CIVIDINA – PINCH ARMCHAIR
The out-of-the box boxy armchair, it’s
a refreshing release for La Cividina.
Available in various heights and widths,
the Pinch family is an elegant addition to
a commercial space.

construction concept result in a versatile
product available in different finishes,
to please the masses.

Capable of going beyond time and to harmonize
every space, Crassevig has shown, once again,
how to transform passion for wood and design
into exciting pieces.
LATEST PROJECT
South Perth River Front This newly built, superbly finished home sits
on a site always admired by the owners with
spectacular views of the Swan River and a
huge expanse of open parkland to overlook
from the upstairs living area. The home was
designed by Shayne Le Roy who commissioned
the Contempo Interiors team to furnish with
a brief to design a sophisticated luxurious yet
comfortable home that complimented the
contemporary architecture.
Inspired by the Minotti collection, the owners
were drawn to the timeless and refined
aesthetics of the Sherman sofa, Perry coffee
table and Dibbets rug along with Jenson chairs
to create the perfect back drop to the South
Perth river front. The open plan living space
allowed the continuity of the Aston collection to
flow through from the dining area to the state
of the art kitchen. The complimentary influence
of Dordoni is noticeable when moving from the
living to the outdoor entertainment area that
overlooks the pool area where Dandy and Harp
by RODA are used.
The master bedroom featuring Yang in its
simplest and most timeless form provided the
clients an opportunity to use their art collection
piece by Australian artist David Bromley to
contrast yet balance the design.
