Ready-to-wear LYCRA® Style fiber
is ready when you are
LYCRA® Style fiber, a new member in INVISTA’s brand portfolio, has been specially
developed for the unique branding, performance and pricing needs of the ready-to-wear
market. The brand helps to create clothes that consumers love to wear, all day, every day,
from day to night and casual to dressy occasions.
The new brand is targeted to reach a new, younger customer base and
will redefine the role that LYCRA® Style fiber will play in providing
individual style without compromise comfort or fit. To better understand
how to emotionally engage this new target consumer group, INVISTA
went beyond traditional consumer studies and worked with
Innerscope Research, a leader in the biometric market research field,
to uncover deeper consumer insights by measuring and analyzing
consumer’s physical reactions and cognitive processing when they
were shown the LYCRA® Style fiber brand, positioning statement and
imagery. The initial research in U.S. confirmed that the brand is ideally
positioned to connect with target consumers and drive them to respond.
Engineered for a variety of garments, LYCRA® Style fiber has just the
right amount of recovery levels to make sure garments keep their
shape. The fiber has the ability to improve machine speeds, yarn
draftability, reducing wastage and knitting breaks, which makes
it an attractive choice for managing production costs.
LYCRA® Style fiber is being introduced and will be available
globally in the spring of 2011 through public relations
and trade advertising promotions. Learn more at

INVISTA Apparel Business Planet Agenda update health and safety awards at the plants
Creating long-term value for society by protecting the safety and
health of workers and others is an integral part of the INVISTA
Apparel Business Planet Agenda vision. We are proud that INVISTA’s
sites in Victoria and Texas have been recognized for their sustainable
safety programs by the U.S. Occupational Health and Safety
Administration (OSHA). INVISTA’s Maydown site has also received a
similar designation from Northern Ireland’s government organization.
The Paulinia site in Brazil has earned a 35-year safety record by more
than 23 million work hours without a lost time injury. In China, the
Foshan site received the A-Class Safety Production Management
Award from Foshan Safety Bureau and the Safety/Fire Excellence
Award from Sanshui District Safety Bureau in 2010.

COOLMAX® EcoMade fiber - from bottles to socks
While it is true that ‘innovation starts with imagination’, few could have imagined that
post-consumer recyclables such as used plastic bottles could be successfully converted into fibers
for high-performance COOLMAX® EcoMade socks! Made in part with fibers that are made from 97
percent recycled resources, COOLMAX® EcoMade socks benefit the environment while maintaining
the wicking performance that you’ve come to expect from the COOLMAX® brand.
“With COOLMAX® EcoMade socks, consumers do not have to sacrifice style or performance
standards in order to wear apparel manufactured from recycled resources. There are now literally
hundreds of styles available nationwide in almost every color and design for both men and
women,” says INVISTA Global Legwear Director Denise Sakuma.
Name-brand sock manufacturers and retailers have joined together in expanding the product’s
popularity for athletics and everyday comfort. Socks from DeFeet®, Injinji®, Dansko®, Timberland®,
and Sports Tuff are featured on the web site www.COOLMAXECOMADE.com.
A team of robots is also featured on the site to represent each stage of the high-tech process.

Fortunately, LYCRA® T400® fiber provides a comfortable alternative that requires less cotton.
LYCRA® T400® fiber is competitively priced with 100% cotton garments, and offers added performance
benefits. When combined with cotton, it can create soft apparel that has better shape retention,
moisture management, and multi-directional stretch and recovery for freedom of movement.
Since cotton has no recovery power of its own and absorbs moisture, LYCRA® T400® fiber can turn
cotton basics into higher performance active wear, sportswear, casual wear and outdoor apparel.

What’s new in Brazilian Color Card for Summer 2012?
“All together and at the same time” … that is how INVISTA presented the trends that will
invade the Brazilian streets next summer at Color Card Summer 2012.
Combining activewear and ready-to-wear with swimwear and intimate apparel, this
holistic fashion trend was launched in the main textile poles of São Paulo (SP),
Fortaleza (CE), Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and Brusque (SC) in February.
“Once all segments are relevant to INVISTA, we decide to group them, to make it
possible for our customers to have, in the same moment, all the information they need
to develop the next collection”, said Andrea Martins, marketing manager for INVISTA
Apparel in South America. The event in São Paulo also had a talk about "Digital media
inspiring the fashion industry" delivered by Marina Pires, planning manager of

LYCRA® SPORT fabric makes its debut in Brazil
Brazilian consumers have joined the ranks of happy customers in Europe, North
America and Asia with the launch of LYCRA® SPORT fabric last November.
The launch was coordinated by the Rosset Group, who arranged for Angelo
Frigerio, Rosset Group product coordinator, to present cutters with a lecture about
the fabric performance, followed by a parade of garments made with qualified
fabrics. “With this content [LYCRA® SPORT fabric], cutters have additional
endorsements of quality and recognition for their product”, said Gustavo Rosset,
Commercial Director of Rosset Group.
LYCRA® SPORT fabric combines lightness, elasticity and freedom of movement,
which are essential for sports activities. To receive the LYCRA® SPORT fabric brand
qualification, fabrics are tested on standard requirements of performance.
Garments with these attributes have a LYCRA® SPORT fabric hangtag to differentiate
them to the consumer at the point of sale.

INVISTA products have led to positive customer feedback from leading fabric producers in Turkey.
Here are some comments that were included in an INVISTA advertorial interview series recently
published in the Turkish press.
Fatih Coşar, Deputy General Manager of Denim Mills at Matesa Textiles: “We marketed our
products internationally as very durable elastified fabrics that provide improved colourfastness thanks
to the use of LYCRA® T400® fiber; the elasticity would still be there with the additional benefit of a shiny
look after having washed the garment many times. The customers’ reaction was good on garment
quality after frequent washing, elasticity and soft touch”.
Melik Erdinç, Supply Manager of Yunsa: “LYCRA® Black fiber is an important tool for us to meet customer demands
about colorfastness together with comfort and ease of use. We also know that this fiber’s stretch and recovery benefits satisfy our customers
very much since thanks to these properties, consumers can wear their favorite item for longer.”
Önder Öksüz, General Manager of GAP: “LYCRA® lastingFIT fabric has excellent recovery, good consistency, minimum shrinkage features
thanks to LYCRA® T400® fiber. Denim garments made with these fabrics maintain their performance after washing and are more comfortable
than garments made with other denim fabrics”.

LYCRA® beauty fabrics lead the way in lingerie development
Over 200 guests, including mills, brands, partners throughout the supply
chain, as well as trade and mass media were invited to Shanghai last
October to witness the launch of LYCRA® beauty fabrics in China.
Three fabulous performances under the theme “Shape”, “Form” and “Beauty”
wowed the audience and successfully conveyed the versatility of
shapewear made with LYCRA® beauty fabrics. Adding a dramatic touch to
the closing ceremony, a group of INVISTA executives were invited on stage
to color an ice sculpture of the LYCRA® beauty fabrics mark with Burgundy.
The next stop on the LYCRA® beauty fabrics Asian promotional tour was
Hong Kong Mode Lingerie in March 2011. During the event, an exclusive
pictorial highlighting the best prototypes made with LYCRA® beauty fabrics
by major lingerie manufacturers was made and later published in INTMA
group magazine editions in France, Italy, Germany and Asia.
These two major events for LYCRA® beauty fabrics are only the beginning of
INVISTA’s commitment to leading the way in the development and
innovation of the intimate apparel industry in Asia.
