The sentiments were mostly neutral/usual when the article first got published in
outlook till Hafeez Saeed made that statement

Once the statement from Hafeez started flashing on various news channels and
online articles, we see a sharp drop in neutral sentiment percentage. People
started expressing strong opinions. And there was a quick spike in negative
sentiments and a slight drop in the positive sentiments

The tweet from red chilies reduced the negative sentiments by a small
percentage. The positive sentiments were largely unaffected

This was followed by some more tweets from red chilies and responses from
Indian Govt, BJP, Shiv Sena and couples others, which saw a steady rise in
positive sentiments and declining negative sentiments. Neutral were still very low,
meaning people were still showing strong emotional responses towards the issue

SRK’s press conference further increased the positive sentiments towards him.
Note that this period has the lowest negative sentiments, after Hafeez made his
statement, and the lowest neutral statements overall.
Key Topics
This week was quite a roller coaster for SRK on the social network. The week started on
the positive note with SRK appearing on the Forbes magazine and there was a lot of
buzz around his photo shoot by Daboo Ratnani. There was considerable increase in the
negative sentiment after the essay written by SRK for Outlook became public which was
followed by comments from Hafiz Saeed and Rehman Malik. A lot of people started
posting negative comments around this time since they were expecting SRK to respond
to both Hafiz Saeed and Rehman Malik. Meanwhile an article on SRK on Firstpost by
Venky Vembu also started trending.
Looking at all this negativity, the tweet from the official handle of RedChilliesEnt
supporting SRK started creating a lot of buzz. This tweet turned out to be the most
popular post for this week. This was followed by the fans and well-wishers of SRK
starting a trend on #WeStandBySRK which took the social media by storm and
generated maximum positive sentiment. The next big thing that happened was the press
conference at TOIFA where he slammed Pakistan and reiterated that he feels safe in his
country. Following this there has been a significant drop in the negative sentiment post
the conference.
While all this was happening, fans in Indonesia were still excited about the OSO release
in Japan in March. Jepun (Japan) was trending widely from Indonesia.
