I became involved with LITP after I joined New Generation Church. I love being around the church and people as much as possible and this is the perfect opportunity to do just that. I want to be like a light shining in the You live in Malawi. Tell us about that. I work for a church which is led by a local Malawian. I mentor young men from local villages. I organise football academies with professional footballers running them in the villages. I also run leadership courses and health lessons. We focus on preventing, rather than curing, illnesses. Why Malawi? We had visited Malawi before to visit friends who run a charity out there. (www.dalitsotrust.org) Both my wife and I have always wanted to help the third world. I studied farming with the specific aim of using those skills to help with hunger issues. When I got here, however, I realised that although this is helpful, church is actually the answer. It’s all part of God’s rescue plan. Is there a God? Yes? No? Maybe? Yes, I hope so. And he is awesome. Every afternoon, while the zones are running, the outdoor arena offers “Park Life”. Yesterday we were treated to a barber shop choir who also performed in the Freedom Zone. They entertained as people enjoyed a cuppa, chatted and enjoyed the sun which did decide to make an appearance! This afternoon we have ‘Has Sidcup got more talent?’ Come along and enjoy.
