MONTCHANIN VILLAGE
The village of Montchanin is
not so much a hamlet as a
microcosm of American
history. Once part of the
Winterthur estate, it was
named for Alexandrine de
Montchanin, grandmother
of the founder of the
DuPont Gunpowder
Company. One of the few
remaining villages of its
kind, Montchanin Village is
comprised of 11 carefully
restored buildings dating
from 1799 to 1910.
ROOMS AT THE INN
There are 28 richly furnished guest rooms, many with private,
professionally landscaped courtyards and gas fireplaces. Each
room and suite is unique, with its own individual character and
features.
All guest rooms have deluxe private baths, dual-line telephone
with dataport for computer use, high-speed internet, cable TV
and wet bar. Many have sitting rooms with gas fireplaces. All
rooms and suites are furnished with period and reproduction
furniture and appointed with the sophisticated traveler in mind.
We provide nightly turndown service, complimentary daily New
York Times delivery, elegant bathrooms with heated towel racks,
robes and in-room safes. Room service is available. On site parking
is free. All rooms offer a refrigerator filled with complimentary
sodas and water, microwave, coffee maker, and china, glass and
flatware.
Superior suites are exquisite large rooms with gas fireplace and are
beautifully decorated in 19th century original and reproduction
antiques. They feature large private, marble bath with an oversized
walk-in shower and soaking tubs, heated towel racks and
illuminated make-up mirrors.

The Dilwyne Conference Room is located
in the historic Dilwyne Barn, where Guest
Registration is housed. This room offers a
variety of audio/visual equipment.
Continental breakfast and buffet lunch are
available in this room or if you desire a
served meal you can dine in the Crow’s Nest.

Crow’s Nest at Krazy Kat’s Restaurant

This fully-appointed private meeting and
dining room on the first floor of the historic
Carpenter House provides a unique setting
for any type of meeting. The Boardroom is
equipped to meet your audio/visual needs
and offers a private office with photocopier
and facsimile machine as well. There is a
fireplace for use during the colder months
and an outside patio with seating for use
during the warmer months.
The Crow’s Nest is an elegantly appointed
private dining room located on the second
floor of Krazy Kat’s Restaurant. With private
outside entrance which is handicap accessible
and is available for social events like birthdays,
anniversaries, rehearsal dinners, etc., and
corporate functions.
Table setup: One oval table seats up to 12
and three round tables seat up to 10.

FROM I-95 NORTHBOUND
Baltimore/Washington
Follow I-95 North to Wilmington, take Exit 7 (Rte 52,
Delaware Ave.). From right lane take Exit 7 onto Adams
St. At the 3rd traffic light (end of Adams St.) turn left
onto Delaware Ave., Rte 52 North. Stay immediately in
the left lane at the fork of Delaware Ave. Follow Route
52 North for approximately 3 miles. At Rte 100 North
turn right. At the 3rd traffic light or after 1 mile you
will see the second sign for the Inn at Montchanin
Village, turn right and make a quick left for the Guest
Registration. This is also the main Parking for the Inn
and Krazy Kat's Restaurant.
FROM I-95 SOUTHBOUND
Philadelphia & Philadelphia Interational Airport
Take I-95 South to I-495 South. Stay in the right lane
to take Exit 6 (Route 92 West, Naamans Rd. Proceed
5 miles to US Rte 202. Stay in the right lane. Exxon
gas station on your right, shopping-strip on the left.
Stay in the right lane to cross Rte 202 onto Rte 92
West (Beaver Valley Rd). After 1/2 mile take 1st left
following Rte 92 West (Ramsey Rd). Stay on Rte 92
for approximately 3 miles until a 4-way-stop. Maintain
the same direction and now you are on Rte 100. After
1 mile you will be at a traffic light at the Inn's entrance.
Turn left, then immediately left again for the Guest
Registration. This is also the main Parking for the Inn
and Krazy Kat's Restaurant. Wilmington Country Club
on left and Methodist Country House on the right. At
the next light make a left onto Kirk Rd. (Route 82).
We are located less than a mile after, at the very next
light at the intersection of Route 100 and Kirk Rd. Pass
through the light and make a quick left into the parking lot.
FROM NEW YORK OR NEW JERSEY
1. Via Delaware Memorial Bridge
Take the New Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 1, (Delaware
Memorial Bridge). Follow I-295 South to I-95 North.
Take I-95 North to Wilmington, take Exit 7 (Rte 52).
From right lane take Exit 7 onto Adams St. At the 3rd
light (end of Adams St.) turn left onto Delaware Ave.,
Rte 52 North. Stay immediately in the left lane at the fork
of Delaware Ave. Follow Rte 52 North for approximately
3 miles. At Rte 100 North turn right. At the 3rd traffic
light or after 1 mile you will see the second sign for
the Inn at Montchanin Village, turn right, then immediately left for the Guest Registration. This is also the

2. Via John Barry Commodore Bridge
Take the new Jersey Turnpike South to Exit 2. After
tollbooth turn left on Rte 322 and 526. Just passed
the John Barry Commodore Bridge stay in the left lane
and take Exit to I-95 South. Take I-95 South to I-495
South. Stay in the right lane to take Exit 6 (Rte 92
West, Naamans Rd.). Proceed 5 miles to US Rte 202.
Stay in the right lane. Exxon gas station on your right,
shopping-strip on the left. Stay in the right lane to
cross Rte 202 onto Rte 92 West (Beaver Valley Rd.).

FROM PENNSYLVANIA - ROUTE 1 KENNETT SQUARE
& LONGWOOD GARDENS AREA
From US Rte 1 to Rte 52 (on the left coming from US
1 North - on right from US 1 South). Continue for
approximately 6 miles. Pass the Wilmington Country
Club on left and the Methodist Country House on the
Wilmington is about two hours by car from
New York City and Washington D.C. and is
easily accessible from I-95. Amtrak serves the
Wilmington train station and the Philadelphia
International Airport is just 40 minutes by car.

East). Less than 1 mile at the T shape intersection is
Rte 100. The Inn's sign is in front. Pass straight
through the light and turn immediately left for the

FROM ROUTE 202/ CONCORD PIKE - TRAVELLING
SOUTH FROM PENNSYLVANIA INTO DELAWARE
After 1 mile into Delaware, at the intersection of Beaver
Valley Rd. (Rte 92 West) make a right. Exxon gas station
is on your left. After 1/2 of mile make first left following
Rte 92 West (Ramsey Rd.). Stay on Rte 92 West for
approximately 3 miles until 4-way-stop. Maintain the
same direction and now you are on Rte 100. After 1
mile you will be at a traffic light at the Inn's entrance.
Turn left, then immediately left again for the Guest
Registration. This is also the main Parking for the Inn
and Krazy Kat's Restaurant.
FROM THE WILMINGTON TRAIN STATION
From underneath the railroad track on French St.,
crossover the Martin Luther King Blvd. to the 2nd light.
Make a left onto 2nd St. and continue to Orange St.
Make a right onto Orange St. Follow Orange St. to 12th
St. Make a left on 12th St. that eventually becomes Rte
52 (Pennsylvania Ave.). Stay in left lane at the fork of
Delaware Ave. Follow Rte 52 North for approximately 3
miles. At Rte 100 turn right. At the 3rd traffic light or 1
mile, you will see a second sign for the Inn at Montchanin
Village, turn right and make a quick left for the Guest
