WHAT’S NEXT?
Confirm Your Attendance
You were given a confirmation deadline in your
acceptance letter. Please confirm your attendance
online. Be sure to respect the deadline you were
given: if you miss it, your spot will be given to
someone else.
Quebec Residency
If you are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
born outside Quebec, you must submit a completed
Quebec Residency Attestation Form (available on
bemarianopolis.ca in the Admissions section under
Publications and Forms) to the Admissions Office.
You must submit this form even if you attended high
school in Quebec.
Registration Preparation Session
This preparatory session for the class of 2018 will take
place on Saturday, May 28; you will receive your
appointment time via Omnivox. At this session you
will learn how to select your classes and create a
schedule for the Fall semester. Depending on your
situation, you will be at the College between one to
three hours. Attendance is compulsory.
WHO WRITES THE ENGLISH
PLACEMENT TEST (EPT)?
The EPT is for all students attending or who have
graduated from:
• A French-language Quebec high school
• An English-language Quebec high school and
who have a Secondary V (Grade 11) mid-term
mark of less than 70%
• A high school outside of Quebec where the
primary language of instruction is not English
WHO WRITES THE FRENCH
PLACEMENT TEST (FPT)?
Students are placed in French streams based on
their high school marks in French Mother Tongue or
French Second Language courses. When students'
grades indicate two possible streams, they are
required to write the FPT to ensure that they register
in the correct course. For more information, please
MIO or call Magali Gasse-Houle, Modern Languages
Department Chair, ext. 354, Room B-313.
Placement Testing
You may be required to write an English and/or
French placement test. These tests do not affect your
admission; they only serve to put you in the correct
stream. We will notify you through Omnivox.
CREATE YOUR SCHEDULE
As a college student, you have to select your
courses and create your schedule each semester.
While some courses are required for your program,
you will get to choose one or more of your courses
online through Omnivox. Please be sure to check
Omnivox for your registration appointment; it will be
posted after the Registration Preparation Session.
Registration starts at 4 pm on June 7, 8 and 9.

Helping you balance school and finances
Marianopolis also offers a book-lending program,
budgeting workshops, part-time jobs on campus
and other ways to help students like you balance
work, life, school and money. In 2014-2015, 390
students earned over $185,000 by working at the
College.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
The first words of the College's Mission are “The
Student is the centre of the Marianopolis learning
community.” With that in mind, Marianopolis strives to
be accessible to all motivated and qualified young
people who want to attend. The College offers
financial support to one in five students.
Marianopolis students are offered many types of
financial aid: some of it is based on need; some of it is
based on merit. There are dozens of scholarships for
which students can apply and there are dozens for
which students are automatically considered. Check
out bemarianopolis.ca/scholarships/.
Marianopolis also supports its students with everything
from job-skills training to emergency loans. This includes:
• Tuition credit: students who receive financial
assistance from the Quebec Government Student
Loans and Bursaries Program can request to have
some of their tuition amount lowered
• Book loans: students who get help from the
provincial government may apply at the start of
each semester to borrow textbooks from the
College.
• Food bank: Marianopolis offers free light meals,
snacks and food vouchers to the school cafeteria
to students in considerable financial need.
• Job skills: Marianopolis counsellors train students
on job-search techniques and interview skills.
• Marianopolis loans: the College provides interestfree loans to students who find themselves in
immediate financial distress.
And remember that you can put any RESP savings
toward your Marianopolis education. Find out more
about the many ways in which the College helps
students with their finances at
bemarianopolis.ca/financial-aid/.
