Dear Parents & learners
As this is the last newsletter of this term, the staff and I would like to wish all our learners and parents a happy
holiday. We trust that you will spend some real quality time together and that the learners will return to school on

Monday 13 April well rested and ready for a jam – packed 2 term!
Please note that the admissions process for 2016 commences on 13 April 2015. More information regarding this is
given elsewhere in this newsletter. Prospective parents are encouraged to visit the school on our open day from
14:00 – 17:00 on Wednesday 18 March 2015. This afternoon will also be opened up to our current parents to visit
their child/ren’s teachers for an informal chat.
Many thanks to all parents and staff who participated in the recent SGB elections, your commitment and support is
truly appreciated! The following members were elected to represent the School community for the next three years:

INFORMATION REGARDING APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION TO THE 2016 SCHOOL YEAR
The applications process for new enrolments to the 2016 school year, for all grades but especially Grade
1, opens at 08:00 on 13 April 2015 and will close at 13:00 on 26 May 2015.
Application forms may be collected from the School as from 08:00 on 13 April 2015 BUT MAY ONLY BE
RETURNED TO THE SCHOOL as from 08:00 on Tuesday 21 April 2015.
Please note that having a child already attending CKPS, DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY GUARANTEE
ADMISSION OF A SIBLING (BROTHER OR SISTER), neither does the fact that you “live/work around
the corner from the school”. You are hereby advised to make application as soon as possible, on or
after the opening date, to avoid disappointment and unnecessary frustration. The Principal and/or the
admissions staff will not be held responsible for prospective Parents’ procrastination (which may result in
the non-placement of a learner) in the admissions process.
Applications are to be made by the parent/legal guardian in person (in the case of a “legal guardian”
LEGAL proof is required). When all the required documents are received, applicants will be placed on the
relevant waiting list. Enquiries regarding acceptance/non-acceptance may be made as per dates given
upon submission of application.
APPLICATIONS FOR REGISTRATION FOR 2016 ADMISSIONS
Open: 13 April 2015 (08h00 – 13h00 schooldays) Close: 26 May 2015
 The supplying of fraudulent home and/or work address will affect your application and
could lead to legal action being taken by the SGB
 Non-South African Citizens are to produce original Work and Study Permits
 We do not make photocopies. Therefore, kindly have copies made and certified, or produce
copies with the original documentation
 Applications that are incomplete or submitted without ALL the required documentation will
not be allocated a waiting list number
 In the case of Foster parents/Legal guardians, Legal documentation is required to support
their status

School will accept the abridged birth certificate temporarily.

In June 2016 you will be required to produce the child’s Immunization Card indicating the date
on which the 6 year vaccination was administered. This card should kept in a safe place until
requested by the Grade 1 teacher.

ITEMS LEFT AT HOME
We have noticed an increasing number of parents calling on the school office to deliver clothing, lunches,
messages, etc. Parents are encouraged to teach their children responsibility in ensuring that children
leave home in the morning with all their requirements for the day.
FUND RAISING
Our Fund Raising event for the 1st term is the Father / Child campout that will take place on
Friday 20 March 2015 from 16:00
Ticket sales will close on Wednesday, 18 March 2015
Please note that NO ALCOHOL will be permitted at the campout.
