Visiting Hours
Visitors can be good medicine for patients. Family members
and friends are welcome to visit. However, since patient
care is our primary concern, specific visiting hours and
regulations have been established as follows for patient
rooms, with exceptions in the Emergency and MaternalChild departments.
• Children under 12 are NOT encouraged to visit.
• All visitors must wash their hands with soap and water
before entering and use the hand sanitizer when entering
and leaving the room.
• You should not visit the hospital if you are sick. All visitors
should be without fever and contagious infections, such
as cold or flu; coughs, sore throat, runny nose, nausea,
vomiting, diarrhea or upset stomach.
• Visitors may be asked to leave the room when care or
treatment is required.
• For safety reasons, no lounge chairs, cots, mattresses or
similar items may be brought into the hospital.
• For the well-being of the patient, we encourage visitors to
maintain a quiet environment and keep visits brief.
• Visitors may stay overnight with a patient. Please let the
Charge Nurse know if you are spending the night. In
semi-private rooms, a visitor of the opposite sex will be
allowed to stay overnight only if the patient’s roommate
consents. We ask visitors to respect the roommate’s
privacy and leave the room when asked.
• The needs of the patient come first, sometimes
requiring an exception. Speak to your nurse if you have
questions or special needs.
Emergency Department
Only two visitors per patient are allowed in the Emergency
department. The attending physician or charge nurse may,
in some cases, waive this restriction.
Maternal-Child Department
Visitation is at the discretion of the caregiver or by
physician order and is determined by what is in the
patient’s interest.
Calling Patient Rooms
Cafeteria
Family members and friends may call a patient’s room directly
by dialing 270.575.2XXX (the patient’s three-digit room
number). Calls to patient rooms are not accepted from 9:30

Patients may make outgoing calls at any hour.
Baptist Health Paducah’s cafeteria serves nutritious

eat in the cafeteria. For menu information, phone
extension 3463.
