1981, and has always been a leading company in the
field of jewellery design having found the perfect formula
between offering jewellery affordable to all that is also
modern and yet skillfully crafted thanks to the company’s
goldsmith’s tradition.
Throughout its 30 years of existence, the company has broadened its
lines of products and now offers more than 10,000 items ranging from jewellery or watches to cosmetic products and accessories. This has enabled
the company to convert itself in one of the leading companies in the sector
with more than 1,000 employees, a sales network of 130,000 collaborators
dealing with more than thirteen million clients in the 17 countries where it operates at present.

CRISTIAN LAY has secured its position as first manufacturer of
jewellery in Europe and now generates an annual profit that exceeds 171
million euros. It is able to offer maximum quality products thanks to the control it operates over the whole of the manufacturing process of the articles it

Thanks to the desire of its Creative Director Miguel Ángel Leal (born on the 6th of January
1980 in Badajoz), CRISTIAN LAY, opted for a new icon in 2008 to better identify
the brand and reflect the company’s values.
Miguel Ángel Leal is the second generation within CRISTIAN LAY. and works
as the marketing, communication and creative director of the company founded by his father. He chose the butterfly as its icon because for him this animal symbolises the brand
perfectly. Indeed this fascinating insect goes through a process of transformation from a
chrysalis to becoming one of the most spectacular creatures that exists in nature. It is also
a symbol of good luck and beauty.
He has created three collections for CRISTIAN LAY, and also possesses his
own brand that bears his name and which he launched in 2010.

CRISTIAN LAY’s marketing and communication strategy is meant to provide constant
support to its network of collaborators and clients. The creation in 2008 of its line Prestige
which benefited fro the collaboration of outstanding designers and public figures as well as
the launching of the brand and products to the media represented a key event for the company and contributed to consolidating the company’s branding.
Designers as reputable as Javier Larrainzar, Candela Sastre, Lolita, Jaqueline de la Vega,
Elena Tablada, Melanie Olivares, amongst others have collaborated with CRISTIAN LAY

To commemorate “International Breast Cancer Day”, CRISTIAN LAY
and the publishers of the Revista AR, a magazine for women, develop a project that includes the participation of numerous figures of the world of culture
and the entertainment industry so as to raise funds to promote research to
fight this illness.
For this occasion, CRISTIAN LAY designed a collection of solidarity jewellery. The entirety of the profits obtained from the sales were donated to AECC (THE SPANISH ASSOCIATION AGAINST CANCER).
Funds collected reached 70,000 euros and were handed over to the
president of the association, Isabel Oriol during an act celebrated in the entity’s headquarters.

CRISTIAN L AY and singer Huecco had designed a new collection of
solidarity jewellery.
This collection was named after one of the singer’s most famous and committed songs called “Se acabaron las lágrimas” (“No more tears”).
The benefits from the sales of this collection were used to rebuild an orphanage located in Leogane (Haïti) which was entirely destroyed after the earthquake
that hit the country.

The NGO Children for Peace celebrated their second charity event in Marbella to raise funds aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged children
born in areas suffering from a conflict.
Numerous well known figures took part in the event for the benefit of this
cause and were able to witness the prize rewarded to CRISTIAN LAY
for the humanitarian aid given in Leogane (Haïti) where the company funded
the reconstruction of an orphanage destroyed by the earthquake that struck
the country in 2010.
This reward enabled the Creative Director of the firm to become one
of the stars of that night whilst he collected the prize from the hands of
Marisa Berenson.

CRISTIAN LAY, the foundation Isabel Gemio and the Association ADEEM
(Association of Young Spanish Designers in Movement) joined together in an effort
to launch a new solidarity project aimed at raising funds for families with children suffering from “rare diseases”.
A total of 10 designers took part in the solidarity fashion catwalk competition
judged by a panel of famous individuals from the world of design, fashion and journalism such as Olga Ruiz from the magazine Telva; Cuca Solana, director of Pasarela
Cibeles, fashion photographer Luis Malibrán, designer Miguel Ángel Leal amongst
others. They selected the winner who was given the opportunity to commercialise
his own creations under the brand “Sbelia” which profits were donated to the Isabel
Gemio foundation.
